PS4 and Xbox One both are reaching new heights with rapid increase in their sales. At the end of the year both Sony and Microsoft revealed their sales report for the whole year 2013 (which includes only few weeks.), and it seems PS4 leaves Xbox One behind with a remarkable margin.
PS4 has sold handsome total of 530,000 units in the UK, which is pretty great as we know it was just five week business after their launch in 2013, where as Xbox One has scored to 364,000 units which leaves a gap of 166,000 units of consoles (According to ERA using Chart-Track data).
In terms of revenue, PS4 grossed £181.8m compared to Xbox One at £144.5m. Great thing to notice is that the UK market made a total of £326m in just few weeks of 2013, which gives new heights to gaming industry. Next-Gen consoles received a huge welcome with all heart from the people of United Kingdom.
Kim Bayley, director of ERA said “Games continues to deliver digital sales strongly, but it was disappointing that Xbox One and PS4 came so late in 2013 and then huge demand meant stock sold out quickly. Retailers will be working hard in 2014 to maintain the sales momentum of these two great new pieces of kit.”
New year has started with all new possibilities. Happy New year to all, may we all have a healthy, wealthy and joyful year.
