After months of rumors, Nintendo Switch was unveiled on January 13, together with the complete lineup of games we’ll be hopefully playing this year. Among those titles, of course, we were able to find a brand new version of Mario Kart 8, called Deluxe, even though it didn’t look much more than a simple port.
Well, it seems Nintendo is doing something more than a simple port anyway. From what we’ve heard, it’s introducing at least three new Battle modes and, as you can see below, new characters for a roster which is making for 41 characters. It’s huge for a similar racing game, almost like anything else we’ve seen before and more similar to what we’ve seen in fighting games.
It’s nice to see that Nintendo is making the wait worth at least. The game will basically stay the same, introducing an additional slot for perks throughout the race which could make it slightly faster, but it’s hard to see if we’d notice the change. Hopefully, we’ll get to learn something more along the road to its launch in April.
