Sony and Arne Meyer (Community Strategist at Naughty Dog) were open to the idea of releasing Uncharted Collection on PlayStation 4 because they were of the view that gamers who migrate from Xbox to PlayStation family for (current-gen gaming) should get the taste of one of the best and successful PlayStation franchise, Uncharted. What does the top management at Naughty Dog think about Uncharted Trilogy for PS4?
In a recent podcast hosted by our friend at GameInformer, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann stated that the studio’s current focus is Nathan Drake’s next adventure, which is upcoming PS4 exclusive game, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Apart from this, a VERY small team at Naughty Dog is working on prototypes for a new unannounced game.
The speculation for Uncharted Trilogy for PlayStation 4 arrived after the launch of The Last of Us: Remastered on PS4 and recently-announced The Art of the Uncharted Trilogy art book. However, we have finally received a confirmation that this is not the case. When Neil Druckmann was asked by GameInformer: whether fans could expect to see Uncharted Trilogy for PS4? he said:
“Right now, all of our focus is on Uncharted 4. That’s all we can spare.”
So there you have it PlayStation folks, it doesn’t look like Uncharted Trilogy will be re-released or remastered any time soon, but Neil’s deliberately short answer did not rule it out completely.
