Thanks to a tweet published by Nicalis, and later removed, we have another chance to look at the Nintendo Switch OS and user interface – the dashboard of this upcoming console, basically. From what we’ve already learnt in the recent past, the UI is pretty simple and minimal, which means you’ll have instant access to games and main features when turning it on.
Interestingly enough, the tweet was canceled because the indie publisher revealed by mistake, new titles that haven’t been announced for Nintendo Switch yet. Those games areCave StoryandAban Hawkins and the 1001 Spikes. There’s also a port of The Binding of Isaac, but that one has already showed up officially. Community member ScionVyse believes that this rightmost icon could be a port ofHydra Castle Labyrinth, a Japanese indie title that first released in 2011.
The icon seems to match the game’s logo. Well, I’m really enjoying and understanding why Nintendo opted for such a minimalist user interface for Switch: it can also be a portable console, so why mess up with complicated things like Microsoft’s Xbox One?
The deleted tweet reads:
“Isaac was lonely so we brought a few friends to keep him company”
Previously Nintendo Switch got The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ As Another Launch Title.
