Okami HD was officially announced last month for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, delighting the series’ fans. Now, the game’s Steam page is online, with additional information about the PC version’s release date and features.
According to Steam, Okami HD launches for U.S. and European players on Dec. 12, 2017. Meanwhile, PC players in Japan, Australia, and Asia get their hands on the game on Dec. 13. IGN also reports that the game will launch with 4K visuals and land for $19.99 USD and £15.99 in the U.K.
Okami HD also comes with two screen options. Players can either experience the game in widescreen formats, like 720p, or they can play through the game with the original 4:3 ratio used on PlayStation 2. There’s also the original loading screen minigames that players can experience, which were previously removed from Okami’s rereleases thanks to advanced, hardware-diminishing load times.
The original Okami was released on PlayStation 2 in 2006, and has since been ported to numerous consoles, inculding the Wii and PlayStation 3. The game follows Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, as she transforms into a white wolf and battles the demon Orochi to save Nippon from devastation.
