We recently got in touch with Roll7, the developer behind upcoming skateboarding game, Olli Olli. We talked with Simon Bennett, Director of Roll7 and talked on various aspect related OlliOlli, power of Playstation 4 and their working relationship with Sony and their indie policies
Sony’s indie policies has been a massive success and proof of this is over 1000 indie developers have licensed to self-publish on Playstation 4. So we asked Simon to describe their experience while working with Sony, is Sony easy to work with for developers and what they have to say about their indie policies?
“Basically Sony are legends, they are loving Indies and we are loving them! We met with Shahid Ahmad and Spencer Low (who run the Strategic Content team at SCEE) after the big launch of OlliOlli on Vita, and they said that we HAD to get the game onto PS4 and PS3. So that’s what we are doing!” replied Simon.
When asked to share his views PS4 and how helpful its unified architecture, 8GB GDDR5 RAM and GGPU has been in development of OlliOlli? to this Simon replied:
“It’s so exciting! As you can see, OlliOlli is a pushing the consoles to the limits! But seriously, OlliOlli has never looked better. The console is so fast and snappy. We’re incredibly happy with it.”
We also asked Simon to for details regarding resolution at which OlliOlli runs at Playstation 4, is it 1080p/60 FPS? he replied
“You will have to wait for this one!”
OlliOlli is already available on Playstation VITA and is confirmed to arrive on PS4 at somepoint in 2014. Our full interview with Simon Bennett will be posted later guide.
