Respawn Entertainment debut title TitanFall will arrive exclusively for Microsoft’s platforms, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen has finally confirmed that TitanFall is not timely exclusive to Microsoft’s platforms, and it will never arrive on Playstation platforms i.e PS3 and PS4.
Blake Jorgensen also stated that this exclusivity deal is only related to TitanFall and if in future development team decide to go for TitanFall sequels, it might also arrive on Playstation 4 as well.
Speaking at UBS Global Technology Conference, Blake Jorgensen explained the reason behind TitanFall exclusivity deal with Microsoft.
“That’s a process that’s been done through the industry for many years,” Jorgensen said. “There’s lots of single-platform titles. Obviously, you work with the first-parties to make sure the economics make sense for all sides, and we made that decision on Titanfall.”
About EA and Respawn Entertainment relationship for TitanFall, Jorgensen said: “It’s a business partnership. We’re trying to make sure that we’ve developed a great relationship with them,” he said. “We helped them on marketing, we helped them on development where they need it. And we try to maintain a strong partnership with them over time.”
When asked to comment whether TitanFall will always remain exclusive to Microsoft platforms, Jorgensen said: “So obviously it’s the first title that’s committed to a single platform,”
Titanfall releases March 11, 2014 in North America, and March 13, 2014 in Europe.
