Phil Spencer And Ed Boon Would “Love” A Mortal Kombat/Killer Instinct Crossover

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon expressed on Twitter, a couple days ago, how fascinating it could be to offer some sort of crossover between his beloved fighting sim and Microsoft’s Killer Instinct. That sounded like a possible huge news and dream come true for fans, but nothing more than a fan’s idea that was responded to by Boon in a tweet.

Killer Instinct vs Mortal Kombat

Today, Phil Spencer reached Twitter to provide his answer to this question as well, similarly expressing his ‘desire’ to see such crossover actually happen. “Love this idea…” he said, directly responding to Mortal Kombat creator’s tweet.

In his original tweet, Boon said that kind of crossover should definitely be an Xbox exclusive since the Killer Instinct IP is now in Microsoft’s hand. It sure wouldn’t be the first time we see such crossovers happening only on one of the platform the game releases in the end (I clearly recall what happened with the last few Soul Calibur titles), so an idea like that is not to be underestimated or considered impossible.
