Sony is taking their Virtual Reality project “Project Morpheus” for Playstation 4 pretty seriously and have invested significantly into the product, according to Sony Boss Andrew House.
In a recent interview to our friend at Guardian, House made it clear that Sony is betting big on its Virtual Reality strategy:
“It’s definitely more than an experiment. We’ve made some commitments; we’re putting significant investment into the product.”
In addition to this, Andrew House also talked about key goal of Sony with Project Morpheus:
“We do now think that we can get to this point of delivering a magical sense of presence – where your brain tricks you into thinking you’re actually in this place. We think there’s something there that could be really, really interesting for a next frontier of game development.”
At present, only Sony and Oculus are into Virtual Reality business. Oculus has already sold over 100K early versions of its Oculus Rift device to developers. There’s no release date yet for Playstation 4 Project Morpheus.
