Deep Down Screen 1

In a recent interview with our friend at GamesTM, Brendan Greene revealed the FPS at which PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will run on Xbox One X and Xbox One. Greene stated that “definitely” on Xbox One X, PUBG will run at 60FPS, and the development team will have to limit the FPS to 30 on Xbox One. Just a few hours have passed since we broke this new – and today via Twitter, Brendan Greene has issued a clarification and there are some major changes to the FPS figure for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One and Xbox One X.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Will Run At 30FPS On Xbox One X

According to the clarification issued via Twitter, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will run at 30FPS on all Xbox devices (it means including Xbox One X). When asked for the reason behind the decision, Brendan Greene replied: “We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more.”

You guys can read the full statement of Brendan Greene below:

“While I previously stated PUBG would run at higher FPS at XGP launch on 12/12, I want to clarify that PUBG will run at 30 FPS across all @Xbox One devices. We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more.”

And this was his statement to GAMESTM Magazine when asked about the FPS (frame-rate per second) at which PUBG will run on Xbox One X and Xbox One.

“Definitely on Xbox One X, 60FPS. On Xbox One, we’re not sure. We may have to limit it at 30FPS, maybe, but the last time I saw it, it was running at about 30 to 40. We’re still constantly improving it so, you know, the aim is to get to 60. That’s why we’re doing Game Preview because I think the great thing about the console is it’s a locked hardware system, so we can do really specific tweaks that tune it for those systems.

This is really a big surprise to me – a competitive FPS game at 30FPS is not going to go down to well with Xbox fans, it’s not just worth it. What do you guys think? Share your opinion with us in the comment section below.
