Now that the Xbox One X is officially out in the wild, it’s time to start seeing additional games receiving expanded support for the system. The latest to join the fold is Rise of the Tomb Raider, which has just gotten its official Xbox One X patch.
The new update includes plenty of visual and tech enhancements meant to ensure players get the best-looking experience possible on their new system. There are three distinct modes that the game can be played in, depending on preference. For instance, native 4K support Mode will allow the game to run in 3840×2160, with another mode to allow for the highest possible frame rate. Finally, there’s one that focuses on enhanced graphics and textures that you can select from.
There’s a whole wealth of changes coming with the patch, and Square Enix has put a list of them together so you can decide if purchasing the game if you haven’t already for play on the new Xbox One X is for you.
The update includes:
- Amplified texture filtering
- Enhanced foliage
- Enhanced texture resolutions for Lara Croft, environments, and NPCs
- HDR display support
- Improved anti-aliasing
- Improved reflections
- Improved volumetric lights
- Spatial Audio support (with Dolby Atmos as an option)
- Upgraded polygonal detail
It’s a free patch if you choose to make use of the new enhancements, and if you haven’t played the sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, you’re in for a treat.
