Sony Corp has just announced via press-release that SCE has decided to sell all its shares in Square Enix to one of the biggest Japanese brokerage firms, SMBC Nikko Securities. According to official figure revealed by Square Enix, SCE holds 9,520,000.
As per details from analyst, this selling will net Sony around 4.8 billion YES which is “47 million dollars”. Sony promises to reveal final income from this selling tomorrow. So stay tuned to Gamepur for more updates on this as we will update this post as soon as we received final figure from Sony.
No reason was stated behind the sale, however our sources at Sony states that this move is in live with earlier sales of assets to improve the overall financial situation at Sony Corp.
