Splatoon, Nintendo’s popular third-person shooter series of games, is getting its own manga series.
The series plans to launch this December in the West, having already been available for some time in Japan. The manga was originally released in CoroCoro, a monthly japanese magazine made for kids.
The kid-friendly manga follows the adventures of a team of Inklings from Inkpolis, the world of the original Splatoon game for the Nintendo Wii U. The main premise is set around the Turf War game mode, where players need to ink the largest percentage of a stage in a set time limit.
This isn’t the first Nintendo series to be made into a manga. Nintendo has a history of publishing licensed manga series based on its existing properties, such as Super Mario and Legend of Zelda.
Fans of Splatoon can get their hands on the manga this December for $9.99.
