We’ve already reported about Remedy considering new stories for established franchise from its portfolio a few hours ago, but it seems that this will be the way the studio will following in the future and not on some of the game it has already released.
Remedy is working on Control, its next IP, but has still a place in its heart for Alan Wake. In a recent interview, Mikael Kasurinen from the developer talked about the chance that we could see a new game (Alan Wake 2) in the franchise sooner or later, and he said that all the team at Remedy is willing to do something in that universe.
Microsoft Xbox Division Boss Phil Spencer talks about bringing PS4 timed exclusive titles "No Man's Sky and DayZ". He also commented on when fans can expect to hear info on Gears of War game for Xbox One and more.
Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake recently provided an update on the next installment in Alan Wake series, Alan Wake 2, and its not a good news because it seems like there isn't any progress on the series to announce yet.
In a recent interview to Polygon, Sam Lake was asked to comment on Alan Wake 2, here is what he said:
"We are constantly looking for opportunities and talking about possibilities to see what we can do with Wake. I would definitely love to do more Wake, but it needs to be something we absolutely feel is right for Wake, and that the bar is high enough that it will be cool."
"Not just doing at the cost of doing something which isn't as cool as it should be. So... time will tell."
Alan Wake 2 for Xbox One launch title would have been a cool idea but development team at Remedy Entertainment started working on Quantum Dream, a brand new IP based on a TV series of the same name.
Slowly and steadily 2013 is getting bigger and better with each passing days. We all are on the verge of official reveal of next-generation Playstation (Sony is set to reveal The Future of Playstation on Feb 20). Fans and analysts have already started predicting about all the possibilities of things lie ahead in 2013, and we (Gamepur Team) are not far behind. There are still plenty of games being developed that we don't know anything about yet, and so i this note we present to you list of 8 Games that is Expected to be Revealed in 2013.
Modern Warfare 4
The popularity of Call of Duty series is known to each and everyone of us, for those who are unaware, the last installment in the franchise "Black Ops 2" made whooping $500 million in just first 24 hours. There's no doubt that 2013 Call of Duty will see be more successful than Black Ops 2. If recent reports on internet is anything to go by then the next installment in Call of Duty series will be Modern Warfare 4. Below are the two indications of this:
On January 25, 2013, a listing of Call of Duty 10 appear on Amazon Germany official website.
Captain Price's voice actor Bill Murray confirmed that he was working on a new Call of Duty game in Los Angelas.
According to our expectation, Activision will reveal Modern Warfare 4 teaser trailer anytime between now and May 2013 followed by an official announcement and gameplay demo at E3 2013.
Saints Row 4
On January 22 at THQ Auction, Koch Media acquired the Metro and Saints Row series. Immediately after the auction, Saints Row fans were in dilemma whether they will see Saints Row 4 in 2013 or not, because at that time of auction no details was revealed whether Koch Media will go afresh with the franchise or carry forward the work of Volition on Saints Row 4?.
However things went on as expected and Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz confirmed that both Metro: Last Light and new Saints Row will launch in 2013. At present we know nothing about Saints Row 4 but it is expected that this will change at E3 2013.
Dead Rising 3
We have been waiting for this for too long, and the first hint and existence of Dead Rising 3 came from rigging supervisor who worked on the cinematic trailer of the game. Capcom also hinted development of Dead Rising 3 and the future of the series where it is heading via two DLC episodes before and after the launch of DR2. So looking at the overall scenario, all i would like to say that Capcom is all set to officially reveal Dead Rising 3 any day from now on.
Alan Wake 2
Last year Remedy Entertainment registered domain name "AlanWake2.com" and then at the start of this year Alan Wake writer Sam Lake announced that news related to future of the franchise is coming in few days. Immediately after this Major Nelson on his blog posted an countdown pointing towards Microsoft E3 2013 press conference. Sure and shot domain name confirms existence of Alan Wake 2, and now all we have to wait for is an official announcement at E3 2013.
The Walking Dead Season Two
The Walking Dead Season One sold more 8.5 million episodes and on top of that got prestigious Game of the Year Award 2012 beating some of the big games such as Dishonored, Halo 4 and more. Telltale Games has proved their metal with The Walking Dead and now expectations are pretty high. I personally can't wait for The Walking Dead Season Two official announcement and teaser trailer in 2013
Off-late there has been many theories on internet stating that Killzone 4 is already in development and will arrive on Playstation 4 as a launch title in 2013. Sony are known for planning a perfect surprise for their fans for holiday season, and presently we have no idea what they are up-to for holiday season 2013, maybe an announcement of Killzone 4 for PS4 at E3 2013 and launch in late 2013. We will find out answer to these question pretty soon.
At the start of 2013, Suker Punch co-founder, Bruce Oberg stated that have an excellent working relationship with Sony, and so can't rule out working with the firm on Infamous 3. Gamers who have known the franchise are well aware of that both the series and character is still capable of going in many different directions. I expect Sucker Punch to reveal next installment in Infamous franchise E3 2013.
After the release of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception many thought that Naughty Dog will go for a long break before starting work on something however to every-ones surprise came The Last of Us (at VGAs 2011). At the time of The Last of Us announcement it was revealed that the Naughty Dog studio was split into two team one continued work on Uncharted franchise whereas the second one continued work on The Last Us.
So we can easily go to conclusion that we will see more of Drake and Uncharted series in terms of Uncharted 4 sooner or later, Perhaps E3 2013 will shed some light on all this and more.
