  • Assassin's Creed 4 Reveal on February 27

    It seems like the next game in Assassin's Creed franchise will be reveal on February 27 (next Wednesday). Right now Ubisoft is sending mysterious invitations to an event related to Assassin's Creed series.

    Assassin's Creed Teaser in 2013A tweet from MCV reads, "We've been invited to a mysterious Assassin's Creed event on Feb 27th. Anyone else going? Any idea what's planned?"

    Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has already confirmed that details regarding next Assassin's Creed game in 2013 will be revealed very soon.

    So far the only thing we know about new Assassin's Creed game is that it will feature new hero and time setting, and is currently in development by an all new team.

  • Assassin's Creed III Title Update 5 Now Live, All Changes Detailed

    Ubisoft has just released Title Update 5 for Assassin's Creed 3. The update is now available for download across all three platforms. As per the details revealed in the changelog by Ubisoft, this latest update will prepare Assassin's Creed III for upcoming release of Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy DLC.

    In addition to this, the update will also add loyalty unlocks to the PC version and will fix various SP and MP issues. You can view the complete changelog below.

    BUG FIX

    • Fixed a bug preventing the creation of new Uplay accounts
    • Removed the ability to hide pivots during pass-throughs and cinematics

    DLC PREPARATION

    • Added support for “Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy”
    • Fixed potential game data corruption when a DLC download ends while the player is in-game.

    MULTIPLAYER MODES

    • In Wolfpack, a target doesn’t remain stuck on the ground if the player hosting the game leaves while another player is joining at the same time.
    • In Wolfpack, some targets that were not visible to players under certain conditions can now be seen correctly.
    • In Wolfpack, the radar is not broken under certain conditions anymore.
    • In Artifact Assault, Team members can now correctly score when the initial artifact carrier gets killed under certain conditions.
    • In Deathmatch, players no longer have lookalikes NPCs unless they use abilities that create lookalikes.
    • In Deathmatch, the game no longer crashes in the New York brewery map for a player who used a Decoy while hiding in a group.
    • Some players are no longer stuck in rematch after completing a Simple Deathmatch session on the Saint Pierre map.

    LADDERS

    • Some ladder issues when players left a session during the first minute have been corrected.
    • Ladders now update properly upon a full group kick.

    GRAPHICAL GLITCHES

    • The Independent’s hair when she wears the Wild Cat costume now displays correctly.
    • The Strong Man’s white costume, alternative costume and warrior costume now display properly when hiding in a group.

    PLATFORM SPECIFIC

    • On Xbox 360, the Uplay icon and unlock conditions for unlockables redeemed via Uplay have been restored.
    • Loyalty unlocks are now available on PC.

    MISC.

    • Character customization is no longer reset under certain conditions.
    • The Wipe ability now correctly works from a distance.
    • The timer now properly starts and players can interact with each other prior to the host getting into the session.
    • Sound will properly keep playing when trying to watch a video under certain conditions.
    • An error message now displays when players attempt to watch DLC videos without having the DLC installed.
    • Chasebreakers in the Animus Core map now correctly reopen for team mates.
    • Players are no longer stuck on leaving game session screen under certain circumstances.
    • When you create a group in a private game, that group now stays the same through different sessions.

    Ubisoft has just announced details regarding a new patch for Assassin's Creed 3. The patch is title as "Assassin's Creed 3 holiday patch" and will arrive before Christmas on all three major platform, no exact release date has been announced yet.

    - Locked targets don’t become unavailable under certain conditions anymore.
    - Players will now see the notorious lock indicator when their pursuers kill NPCs, regardless of their approach meter.
    - In a chase, target players will now be able to lock their pursuer by default prior to any other character.

    Misc
    - It is now possible for players to reopen Chase Breakers right after their team mates went through them in the Animus Core map.
    - The time during which you’re vulnerable after a stun from ground to a haystack doesn’t vary from one mode to another anymore.
    - Players can no longer get killed by another player from any distance after performing a haystack kill.
    - Players no longer get stuck in the position the character adopts on narrow ledges when they kill with the Fast Gun.
    - Players will no longer see their pursuers as notorious when their pursuers are killed with the silent bonus or better.
    - Characters appearance and Gamertags can no longer be accidentally reverted on Wolfpack podium staging.

  • Assassin's Creed 3 is Ubisoft's fastest-selling game, sells over 7 million units

    Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 is the fastest-selling game in the company’s history, with total sell-through topping the 7 million mark worldwide just one month after its release.

    Assassin's Creed IIFans have wasted no time exploring the game’s open world, and getting involved in the action-packed story. In solo missions alone, players have accumulated more than 82 centuries of gaming time and committed more than 3 billion assassinations.

    The deadly action continues in the multiplayer, where more than twice as many players have joined the multiplayer mode compared to Assassin’s Creed Revelations. To date, more than 250 million assassinations have been performed in more than 5 billion multiplayer sessions.

    Assassin's Creed franchise publisher Ubisoft has sent out a new survery to fans asking about some few ways of development for Assassin's Creed 3 sequel.

    Assassin's Creed 3The survery asked series of question to Assassin's Creed series fans ranging from whether they want to see Connor or Desmond once again, or revisit same time period in furture Assassin's Creed games.

    Furthermore, Ubisoft also asked whether players would like to see a feature enabling them to invite/join friends for assistance in single-player missions.

    The publisher also asked, whether gamers will buy next Assassin's Creed game if it released next year (2013). The last question in the survery was a bit surprise, Ubisoft enquired about gamers experience with highly acclaimed PS3 exclusive, Uncharted 3?.

  • Upcoming patch for Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will fix Save File Bug: Ubisoft

    Ubisoft has confirmed to Joystiq has an Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation development team is currently in process of finalizing the first patch for the game. It will address the nasty save game corruption issue.

    Assassin's Creed 3: LiberationNo details was revealed by Ubisoft as to when the patch will release, but the publisher suggested that it will arrive soon and is almost ready for certification process.

    "Our team is in the process of finalizing the first patch for Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation," reads Ubisoft Statement to Joystiq. "This will address the save game corruption issue that you asked about [previously]. We'll have a better idea on the timing of the patch soon."

  • Assassin's Creed 3: Thanksgiving Patch Live Now, All Changes Detailed

    Ubisoft has just released Thanksgiving patch for Assassin's Creed 3. The patch carries fix for tons of Single-player issues, improves game's multiplayer mode, fixes rare crashes and bugs.

    Assassin's Creed 3PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers will be prompted to download this Assassin's Creed 3 Thanksgiving patch as soon as they connect their console to internet. PC gamers should be prompted too. If not prompted, this thanksgivingf patch has already been applied to the release version of Assassin's Creed III.

    • Multiplayer Modes
    • ASSASSINATE – Instances where it was possible for players to kill players that were not their target in Assassinate have been corrected.
    • ASSASSINATE – Bodyguards no longer fail to stun when they are locked by the pursuer of the player they protect.
    • DEATHMATCH – In Fort Wolcott, fixed a bug where players would remained stuck on warmup screen.
    • MANHUNT – The cooldown boosts for loss streak bonus are not permanently active for all abilities during a manhunt round anymore.   

    Multiplayer Abilities

    • Loss Streak now correctly triggers when players lose their contracts five times in a row.
    • Disruption now breaks the hitting player’s lock.
    • The Smoke Bomb’s drop behavior has been updated. It now drops at the user’s feet instead of dropping in front of them. However, if players drop it from a ledge, it will drop below them.
    • Throwing Knives used against players hiding in haystacks will now make them get out of this haystack.
    • Using Throwing Knives against a target now prevents the target from contesting the kill.
    • Players are no longer stuck after using the Money Bomb from a ledge.

    Multiplayer Ladders

    • Several issues which occurred when players would quit a Manhunt pre-session lobby and join their friends the same session later have been corrected.
    • After a session ends on a draw, both teams will now receive the same rate for Abstergo ladder, instead of one team getting a winning rate and the other getting a losing rate.
    • Players are now granted Abstergo points normally even if one or several players get the idle state at the end of the session (The idle players do not get any Abstergo points)

    Multiplayer Misc

    • It is now possible for players to lock their target when their target has just stunned them.
    • Changing the ability set three times during a game can no longer reset the ability’s cooldown.
    • The X icon no longer inaccurately persistently displays.
    • It is no longer possible for players to get up and perform a kill under certain conditions while they’re vulnerable.
    • Transitions to join Multiplayer sessions after an invite now work correctly.
    • Warm up games are no longer interrupted when the host player leaves.
    • It is now possible to stun a vulnerable pursuer.
    • The X icon no longer displays above the pursuer’s previous target when they have been stunned after being vulnerable.
