  • BioShock 2 coming to Mac in January 2012

    Feral Interactive has just announced that Mac version of BioShock 2 will launch in January 2012 as a boxed game and a download. BioShock is already out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

    Bioshock 2The Mac version of BioShock 2 will feature separate multiplayer game, The Fall of Rapture, set prior to BioShock. In UK BioShock 2 on Mac will carry a price tag of £24.95, €29.95 in Europe and $34.95 in the US.

    The publisher also revealed the minimum system specification for the game. We have it for you, 2.0 GHz Intel Mac with at least 4GB RAM; Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, and 256MB of graphics memory.

    ATI X1xxx series, ATI 2400, NVIDIA 9400, NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series is not supported with Mac version of BioShock 2.

  • BioShock 2: Minerva's Den PC launch date announced

    The launch date of Minerva's Den DLC for PC version of Bioshock 2 has been revealed. The DLC will be released on PC on May 31.

    2K Games confirms that "Minerva's Den will be headed to Games for Windows Live! Within the next day, some of you may notice new achievements appearing - and on May 31st you'll be able to download the final chapter of BioShock 2's story,"

    In Minerva's Den players will control a new character who teamed up with Dr. Tenenbaum to liberate a district in Rapture.

  • Bioshock 2 patch v1.4 available for download

    A new patch v1.4 for Bioshock 2 is now available for download. 2K Games has released the new patch adds support for Protector Trials DLC, and apart from this it also fix number of bugs and gameplay issues.

    • Fixed unlocalized text in Customize Controls screen.
    • Player mouse functionality no longer drops out when the Video Card Driver Warning appears.
    • User.ini no longer overwritten when game loads. This should address mouse sensitivity issues as well as many v-sync option bugs.
    • Enables BioShock 2 to play the new Protector Trials DLC
    • Changes the game version # visibly displayed in the Single Player main menu to Version 1.4
    • Enables music in the game's Single Player main menu (console versions already had this... for PC, the music was always included in the game files, but it didn't play)
    • Overwrites User.ini on installation, so you'll lose your Single Player keybinds
    • Dramatically increases Single Player GFWL sign-in time due to added GFWL sign-in bug
  • Bioshock 2 "Protector Trials" DLC will launch today for PC

    The much awaited "Protector Trails" DLC for Bioshock 2 will finally launch on PC today, March 14. Protector Trails DLC for Bioshock 2 is a single player expansion pack where player go through a series of trails as Big Daddy to protect little sister.

    The DLC doesn't feature any new areas or map, but it included reworked maps from the original game in the franchise. Bioshock 2 DLC "Protector Trials" will be available as a free download.

    Along with the DLC a patch update to fix mouse-sensitivity issue will be available today as well.

    Few months ago, we all got the Official words from 2k Games that there won't be any DLC for the PC version of BioShock 2, Which you can read here. Fortunately, It is not looking true now, because the BioShock 2 DLCs making their way to PC soon.

    First DLC in line will be Protector Trials, which will go for certification processes in late January. Moreover, Minerva’s Den could release in March. No confirm release date has been given for release.

    This info was posted by 2k Games on their official forums. But i have doubt if players will be interested in buying a DLC for a year old game. Anyway, we will be informing you as the confirm release dates reveals for these DLCs.

  • No Minerva's Den and Protector's Trials DLC for PC version of Bioshock 2

    This development was confirmed on the official 2K forum giving the reason as timing and technical issue, they also added that they are currently working on a patch update to resolve some of the issue in Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the game.

    Here is what 2K official forum reads:

    “I have an update on the status of patches for BioShock 2 and some answers to questions on features that have been outstanding for a while,” said Tobey. “We will not be adding vending machine sounds into any version of BioShock 2 and we will not be adding playlists for the multiplayer DLC maps – we did look in to both options but due to technical and timing issues, these two fixes are not feasible.

    “We are planning patches for the 360 and PS3 to fix some functionality issues, but they will not drastically change gameplay (and I’ll post the patch notes when I get them – these two items are still in with QA.)

    “We will also not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there. As always, if any of these issues change in the future, I will update you guys first, but at this point in time I don’t want to make you wait any longer and these are the most definite answers I have and you guys should deem them final decisions.”

  • Bioshock 2 new DLC 'The Lair of Minerva' available

    2K launched the new Bioshock 2 DLC, the first comprehensive history of the game and is not intended for multiplayer.

    Minerva’s Den” takes place in Rapture Central Computing, the most technologically advanced district of the underwater city.  The district is being overseen by the AI known as “The Thinker,” and it features a Rapture-like slant on the computer revolution. ”Minerva’s Den” will feature three new levels, complete with six Little Sisters and Big Sisters looking to stop you.

    Players will be introduced to a new laser weapon called the “ion beam,” as well as a new plasmid called the “gravity well” that creates a mini-cyclone to knock enemies around. The DLC also includes several new enemies, including elemental splicers, and the Lancers, upgraded Big Daddies that want you dead.

    2k Games has confirmed that the "Minerva Den" DLC for BioShock 2 will appear next week. This complements the single player mode of the game.

    "Minerva's Den" is a story based DLC, which is created off the main story. This slips into the role of a completely new character and, along with Brigid Tenenbaum Rapture the resistance against the stranglehold of a dictator. There will be new weapons, new plasmids and provides a never before seen Big Daddy.

    The price is specified as €7.99.
