  • Sledgehammer Games developing next Call of Duty game: Confirmed

    A new job listing on Sledgehammer Studio official website confirmed that they are working on next Call of Duty game. The studio is looking for a Senior FX Artist to help "create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game".

    Sledgehammer GamesThe job listing states that the candidate must have a solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3).

  • New Call of Duty game confirmed for 2012, will it be Black Ops 2?

    Activision has officially confirmed a brand new Call of Duty game for 2012. The announcement was made by publisher during their Q4 financial earnings call earlier today.

    Black Ops 2Infinity Ward and Sledegehammer took the development responsiblity in their hands for the last COD game Modern Warfare 3, and now it is almost certain that Treyarch will take charge of COD game for 2012.

    Apart from this the publisher does not reveal any more details.

  • MW3 first DLC available now on Xbox Live, gameplay footage also out

    Activision has just released the first Modern Warfare 3 DLC. The DLC is in the form of two new multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza. The DLC is now available for premium Call of Duty Elite members on Xbox 360.

    Modern Warfare 3Non premium Elite members, PC and PS3 gamers will have to wait a little longer for the DLC, as Activision has not yet announced the release date. We have some gameplay footage from the DLC as well. Watch it below.

  • Capcom defends "Action route" for Resident Evil 6, aim is to target COD fans

    The debut trailer of Resident Evil 6 which was released earlier today was full of action and horror. The trailer gave us clear idea that Capcom is taking more action oriented approach for Resident Evil 6.

    Resident Evil 6MCV asked Capcom UK head of marketing, Dave Turner, why Resident Evil franchise has taken action oriented approach specially with Raccoon City.

    He replied, "We've seen the popularity of Resident Evil increase massively as the series became more action oriented - Resident Evil 5 is the biggest seller in the series. So, it makes sense for us to follow this action area more fully."

    About Raccoon City, Turner said, "The dream would be that the millions of Call of Duty fans that are enjoying these fast-paced online games are attracted to this Resident Evil."

    Boosting

    • Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
    1. First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
    2.  Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
    3. Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.

    Cheating

    • Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of unknown boosting, glitching, hacking or other related offenses for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
    1. First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
    2. Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
    3. Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.

    Glitching

    • Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks. Examples: Exploiting map holes, the javelin glitch, and participating in modded lobbies
    1. First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
    2. Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
    3. Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.

    Hacking

    • Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of modifying the executable or creating infected lobbies with or without the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
    1. First Offense:  With proper verification, user is console banned.

    Offensive Behavior

    • Any player demonstrating in-game verbal abuse, harassing, or other related behavior deemed as universally unacceptable to other players.
    1. First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 24 hours

    Offensive Gamertag

    • Any player demonstrating an offensive in-game gamer tag, to be decided as universally unacceptable to other players.
    1. First Offense:  With proper verification, user is reputation banned 5000. A reputation ban that exceeds a certain threshold can lead to bans from playing.
  • OPM: Treyarch developing "direct sequel to Black Ops"

    According to the rumor section in the official Playstation Magazine UK, Treyarch is working on a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops game.

    The OPM rumor section reads as, "Treyarch’s next COD game will be a direct sequel to Black Ops,".

    Call of Duty: Black Ops released in November 2010, was the best selling game title of all time before MW3's launch earlier this month. In the past Treyarch has refused to rule out Black Ops 2, and now this one raises our hope a little bit more.

  • UK Charts: MW3 holds of Assassin's Creed: Revelations to retain TOP SPOT

    Activision FPS "Modern Warfare 3" remains on top of UK Charts for second week in a row, even though sales saw significant amount of decrease, and a strong challenge from Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

  • Schofield begs loyal fans to help MW3 on Metacritic

    Glen Schofield, Sledgehammer Games GM has taken on to Twitter to appeal to loyal Call of Duty fans to support their recently released game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Metacritic.

    On Twitter, Glen Schofield said, "I don't usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score,"

    "It's suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree."

    At present Modern Warfare 3 is attracting vast user scores of zero for all three platforms. Currently the user review score of Modern Warfare 3 is 2.7 on Xbox 360, 2.0 on PS3 and 1.5 on PC (Scores are out of 10).

  • Analyst: MW3 sales will touch $1.1 billion mark in just six weeks

    Wedbush Morgan analyst and everyone's favourite Michael Pachter predicts Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will out-sell every other game this year.

    In a note to investors, Pachter said, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will likely be the year’s top-selling game,"

    "If MW3 receives strong review scores (˜ 85 or above on Metacritic.com), it should at least match predecessor Black Ops’ sales (over 25 million units)."

    Pachter added that he expects Activision's upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 3 to follow sales trends, and outdo its precursor.

    "[I] would bet that [Modern warfare 3 sales] are 10% higher over the same time frame, so $1.1 billion in the first six weeks,"

    According to Pachter, 3 and 4 million players would subscribe to premium version of COD: Elite.

    Modern Warfare 3 will launch on November 8 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
