  • F1 2011: PS VITA vs 3DS screenshots comparison

    Codemasters today published some brand new screenshots of F1 2011 for both PS VITA and 3DS. So we decided to put both these screenshots side by side so that you all can check out how much PS VITA version of the game blows 3DS out of water.

    F1 2011

    F1 2011 for PS VITA will launch on December 17, whereas 3DS version of the game will be released on December 22. Codemasters have confirmed that both versions of the game features a total of seven modes, "quick race, time trial, grand prix, career, championship, challenge and multiplayer."

    The multiplayer portion of the game features online and local play for between two and four players. Check out the screenshots below, and let us know in the comment section below what you guys think, which version wins the battlef of graphics?

  • F1 2011 "Patch 2" available now on ALL PLATFORMS

    Codemasters have just released a second patch update (Patch 2) for their F1 racing game "F1 2011". This new patch for the game brings some game improvements, as well as strategy and setup, AI and Co-Op Championship fixes.

    F1 2011 Patch 2 also comes with some some specific PC fixes. The developer promises to offer some excellent performace boost to pretty much all platforms. You guys can check out the complete changelog below.

    Game Improvements:

    • A connectivity rating display has now been implemented for each player in an online session lobby. This appears as coloured bars (red, amber, green) to indicate the expected online performance of the player in the game session.
    • More network bandwidth is now reserved for game-critical systems in online sessions. This may result in low-bandwidth users having their voice chat restricted to fewer players, but should result in a smoother online experience.

    Strategy & Setup:

    • Fixed 11/11 car setup bug.
    • Fixed issue where your race strategy uses the same tyre compound three times in a row & the final set are worn.
    • Fixed issue where wear-based punctures would occur too often.
    • Fixed various issues with the race engineer speech logic.

    AI:

    • Fixed an issue where the AI run on Intermediates for too long.
    • Fixed issue where AI cars would be too fast in the wet.
    • Fixed an issue where AI vehicles pitted too often during dry, online races .
    • The AI has been tuned on several circuits to provide smoother and faster driving.
    • Fixed issue where the AI’s sector 1 times in Malaysia were too slow

    Co–op Championship:

    • Fixed an issue with the save becoming corrupt / not able to invite the other player when playing long race weekends.
    • Fixed an issue where AI difficulty was reset to “Amateur” level when resuming a Coop game.
    • Fixed an issue with tyre wear in Practice/Qualifying not being carried over to Race.
    • Fixed an issue with the penalties accrued in Practice/Qualifying not being applied to the Race.
    • Fixed an issue with the Race Results where lapped AI are causing player to drop positions.

    Online:

    • Vote to Skip in Qualifying now requires 100% vote.
    • Various Penalty system improvements have been made.
    • Quick Race countdown timer is now set to 60 Seconds and no longer resets when a player joins the session.
    • Fixed issue where host and client machines would report different qualification results during online games

    Graphics & Performance:

    • PS3 – Improved frame rate & performance.
    • Xbox360 & PC – Numerous performance improvements have been made to increase frame rate and reduce stuttering.
    • All Platforms – Numerous graphical improvements have been made.
    • All Platforms – Fixed various issues to improve general game stability.

    PC-specific:
      

    • Fixed several functionality issues experienced when using DX11 cards.
    • Fixed issue where users could hack specific files to increase car grip.

    Other:

    • Fixed a very infrequent issue where some sessions would be skipped over when progressing to the next session during a Long Race Weekend.
    • Korea tyre compounds have been changed to those used in the 2011 race.
    • Fixed an issue where in career where the “on the bounce” achievement was awarded after 11 race wins instead of 9.
    • Fixed an issue where all users would be awarded the fastest lap XP and stat during some online races.
    • Fixed an issue where driver’s hands & head popped in a few frames late when switching cameras.
  • Fixed issue where players were able to post extremely quick Time Trial times
  • F1 2011 "Patch 2" details revealed, coming next week

    Codemasters have released new details about the upcoming patch update for F1 2011. The patch is simply called as "Patch 2", and it has been approved by Microsoft and Sony for release. F1 2011 Patch 2 will be released next week for all platforms.

    About this upcoming patch for F1 2011, Codemasters' Community Manager Helios said, "here are technical restrictions on what we can and can’t patch, due to things such as size limits on patches, knock-on effects to other areas of the game and issues that were non-reproducible in our test environment, etc. Issues which currently fall into this category are updated DRS Zones and updated drivers."

    He further added, "To coincide with the release of the 2nd patch and the fixing of the ‘setup bug’, we are also going to be wiping the online leaderboards for both the time trial and time attack online game modes."

  • F1 2011 confirms as PS VITA launch title in Europe, new trailer out

    Codemasters has announced today that F1 2011 is coming to Europe as launch title for PS VITA on February 22. The publisher has also released a brand new gameplay footage of the game.

    F1 2011 PS VITA version features comprehensive online modes. It also includes 4-player Grand Prix race head to head in Time Trial or two against two co-op mode. The online mode of the game is available via wireless function of the PS Vita.

  • F1 2011 first patch available now for Xbox 360 and PC

    The first patch update for Xbox 360 and PC version of F1 2011 is now available for download, Codemasters have announced.

    To download the patch, Xbox 360 gamers need to restart the game while connected to Xbox Live. There is a message for PC gamers on game's official Twitter account regarding how to download the patch, "the game should auto-update when you load it up whilst connected to Games For Windows Live, we’ll also be making it available as a standalone download."

    F1 2011 PS3 gamers received the same patch last week.

  • First F1 2011 3DS gameplay footage arrived

    The very first gameplay footage of F1 2011 3DS version has arrived on YouTube. The gameplay footage is very short but it gives us a clear idea of how the game will look on Nintendo 3DS.

    The launch date of F1 2011 3DS version is not yet announced, however being the very first 3D F1 game should be a huge draw for 3DS version, and it also promises 3D effect.

  • F1 2011 first patch available now for PS3

    Codemasters has just announced that the very first patch for F1 2011 is available now for PS3. The developer has not yet released any notes for it yet.

    The patch for PC and Xbox 360 version of the game is currently in submission with Microsoft, and carries a "TBC" release date.

    The firm's community manager, Helios, said that the development team continued to work on the game, refining, polishing and tweaking and those updates are already available in the patch.

  • First ever F1 2011 PS VITA screenshots (Update: Gameplay video)

    Codemasters have just released the first ever screenshots of F1 2011 for Playstation VITA. These screenshots are pretty disappointing, and the reason for this is that other Playstation VITA games look far better that F1 2011.

  • Ferrari new PS3 and PC screering wheel coming on Sep 23

    Ferrari has announced that they will launch the new PS3 and PC steering wheel on September 23, i.e launch day of Codemasters' F1 2011.
