  • Gran Turismo 5 patch 2.08 and new DLC coming on Sep 25, details revealed

    Sony has just announced that a new patch 2.08 and DLC for Gran Turismo 5 will arrive on September 25. As per the details revealed by Sony on official PS Blog, the new DLC will feature new cars (Nissan GT-R N24 GT Academy ’12, Subaru BR-Z S ’12, Honda Weider HSV-010 (SUPER GT) ’11) available to purchase as DLC for $0.99 each.

    • Now possible to select “Disable collisions” in the [Event Settings] of online races.
    • ID’s are now shown above cars when watching online races.
    • Response of the clutch pedal when using the steering wheel controllers “G25 Racing Wheel”, “G27 Racing Wheel”, “T500RS” and “TH8RS” has been adjusted.
    • Rate of tire wear in endurance races has been slowed (excluding formula cars).
    • Amount of air resistance change when altering aerodynamic wing settings has been increased.
    • Autopilot has been adjusted to prevent colliding with the wall when exiting the pit lane on the Tsukuba circuit.
    • Adjusted the changes in control characteristic when altering vehicle height from standard height. (Vehicle height can be changed by adjusting ride height, either by installing a suspension kit or adjusting a full customizable suspension kit.)

    As promised Polyphony Digital and Sony has released new patch 2.04 for Gran Turismo 5. The patch is now available for download and weighs 79MB only.

    Gran Turismo 5According to details revealed by developer, this new patch focuses on fixing a wide range of bugs and issues in the game. We have the complete changelog for you below. Check it out.

    • Improved the performance of online races to provide a better racing experience. However, please note that using voice chat with 12 or more players can reduce screen refresh intervals.
    • Reduced wobbling of the screen when using the Chase view (The Chase view is when the car is viewed from the rear during races and replays, selected by using the SELECT button).
    • Electric cars (opponent cars and your cars in B-Spec) will now pit-in automatically to recharge the battery.
    • Reduced the amount of steering pull when using force feedback steering wheel controllers in banks on courses such as the Special Stage Route X Oval.
    • When driving formula cars using the Logitech steering wheel controllers, the initial force feedback amount has been lessened and adjusted to make it easier to drive in a straight line.
    • Fixed an issue where speedometer, race position and best lap time info are sometimes not displayed on the 2nd player side in 2P Battle Mode.
    • Fixed an issue where exhaust sound is heard even after switching from a combustion engine car to an electric car within the same online race.
    • Fixed an issue where if the game is started without signing in online and then saved, the cars and courses included in the Racing Car Pack and Course Pack would become unusable.
    • Fixed an issue where electric cars would not recharge in the pit and become immobile.
    • Fixed an issue where when the oil of the Toyota Prius was changed in GT Auto, the motor ceased to function correctly.
    • Improved the force feedback of the Guillemot Thrustmaster T500 RS, where the 10 level force feedback adjustment (especially when using the X2010 and X2011) was not working effectively. Also improved a condition where it was difficult to drive in the intended path.
  • Gran Turismo 5 getting new patch on February 7

    Kazunori Yamauchi has announced that new patch 2.04 for Gran Turismo 5 will launch next week, to be more precise on February 7 (Tuesday). Kazunori Yamauchi revealed no details as to what this new patch will fix but confirmed that it will carry fix for minor bug relating to drift trial replays.

    Gran Turismo 5The patch will be available after Gran Turismo 5 online service maintenance. Currently it is schedule to launch between 03:00 and 04:00 GMT.

    Sony and Polyphony Digital has released a new patch 2.03 for Gran Turismo 5. This new update is available for download, and its' size is 225MB.

    The details of Gran Turismo 5 upcoming patch 2.03 has been revealed. The patch is schedule to launch on January 18 and includes tons of new features and also a new Lamborghini and a track.

  • Gran Turismo 5 new patch coming out later tonight (Updated)

    Kazunori Yamauchi on his personal twitter account has confirmed that the new patch for Gran Turismo 5 will be coming out later tonight.

    Ok, here comes the long awaited GT5 online update. It will happen in 24 hours. An online special event will be held too.

    Immediately after Kazunori Yamauchi post, Polyphony Digital on its official website announced that the Gran Turismo 5 online server will be down for scheduled maintenance between 10:00 and 11:00 PM EST.

    No exact time as to when the patch will be released, stay tuned for more update on this.

    Sony has just released a new patch update v1.09 for Gran Turismo 5. This new update for the game does not bring any new content or features, however it fixes many bugs and glitches.

    • Friend Rankings: In Drift Trials and Time Trials, you can now display leaderboards that shows only your friends. While it was difficult before to locate your friends in the general leaderboards, this now makes it easier to compare your lap times and points with them.

    • Performance points (PP), which is an index of a car’s overall performance, is now calculated regardless of your tire selection. You can now set performance point restrictions and tire restrictions separately when you race in a lounge.
    • Fixed the issue where the performance of electric cars increased/decreased after a certain amount of driving.
    • Downloaded replays from Seasonal Event Rankings can now be viewed properly.

    Other Changes:

    • Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system.
