  • Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 update partly detailed

    Today Kazunori Yamauchi, on his personal Twitter account revealed some details regarding the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 Update.

    According to Kazunori, Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 update will include:

    • Simplified interior view added to all standard cars.
    • User control of the weather change feature.
    • Added a setting sheet feature allowing you to save multiple car settings.
    • Spec 2.0 opening movie.
    • Improved UI usability and response.
    • Replay rewind and fast forward

    Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 Update is schedule to launch later this month.

  • Gran Turismo 5 patch 1.12 available now

    Gran Turismo 5 developer Polyphony Digital has released a new patch 1.12 update for the game. This new patch carries fix for various glitches found in the game.

    According to the details revealed, this patch carries fix for a glitch with the Limited Slip Differential controller for FF cars. This new update is very small, weighing in at only 13MB.

  • Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.11 available now for download

    Sony has released a new patch v1.11 for Gran Turismo. This new patch is now available as a free download for all, weighing in at 62MB.

    It was previously confirmed by Kazunori Yamauchi that this minor update is focused on fixing bugs and glitches within the game. More features and content is expected to arrive in the next few months.

    GT 5 patch v1.11 also brings a new NASCAR Seasonal Event featuring none other than Jeff Gordon's racing suit and helmet as a special prize.   • Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.10 available now

    As promised, the new patch for Gran Turismo 5 is now available for download. The patch updates the game to v1.10 and brings minor tweaks and bug fixes. Complete patch note is also out, we have listed below only th fixes and other changes made to the game by this new patch, check it out.

    Correction of Known Issues

    • PDI has addressed the issue of the maximum speed set in the transmission settings of the settings menu differing from the actual top speed of the car. This will affect cars equipped with the relevant transmission tuning part, and almost all racing cars. Cars for which each gear ratio was adjusted manually with a full customised transmission in update versions 1.07 and earlier will not be affected.
    • An issue with the increase and decrease of the online logon bonus has been corrected.
    • An issue where the player’s car and opponents’ cars braked at the wrong timings in the pit lane during B-Spec has been corrected.
    • A problem where racing sound effects were turned off after changing settings in the quick menu has been corrected.
    • An issue of how dirty the oil is when players purchase a used car not being affected by the car’s mileage has been corrected.
    • An issue where some of the driver gear colours had changed after the 1.06 update has been corrected.
    • An issue in the championships of GT Life where opponent cars kept using the same tyres in the second race and onwards has been corrected.
    • An issue where the menu BGM was being played back during remote racing rather than the race BGM has been corrected.
    • An issue of the program freezing when opening a garage containing nearly the maximum number of cars has been corrected.

    Other Changes

    • Check the physical endurance of drivers that are resting in the B-Spec endurance races.
    • Sort the garage by [Last Car Driven]
    • In [Weight Adjustment] of [Settings], players can now see changes in the front to rear weight balance when the ballast position is changed.
    • The A-Spec driver is now displayed in the profile screen.
    • In the pit menu of B-Spec, the time limit for being able to direct pit work has been changed from reaching “0? in the count down, to “Until the car comes to a complete stop”.
    • The sorting order of the music album has been improved.
    • When selecting a track created in Course Maker from the course album of Arcade Mode or GT Mode, players can now run single races with up to 16 cars. (Excluding some tracks such as those made before the update, and dirt tracks.)
    • It is now possible to take 3D photographs even without connecting a 3D compatible TV.
    • It is now possible to export 3D photographs to [Photo] on the XMB
  • Gran Turismo 5 new patch put on hold due to PSN issues

    Polyphony Digital is holding back the next patch update for Gran Turismo 5 because the company first want every small and big issues related to Playstation Network to settle down.

    Sony has restored online gaming services in most part of the world, but it is still offline in some part including Japan. The delay in restoration is due to issues between Sony and Japanese credit card company, and it's still not clear when they will be resolved.

    The suffering of Playstation 3 gamers continue.

  • Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.08 available now, fixes "SSR7 glitch"

    Sony has just released a new patch update v1.08 for Gran Turismo 5, the patch currently available in Europe and North America. According to the details from Polyphony Digital the new patch fixes "SSR7 glitch" also known as "online money glitch".

  • Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.07 now available for download

    Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.07 is now available for download. Sony and Polyphony Digital has just released a new patch v1.07 for Gran Turismo 5 in order to add few new features in the game, and also to fix many small issues. Gran Turismo 5 patch v1.07 weight around 47MB. A week ago patch (v1.06) to fix Gran Turismo 5 "Save File Destroying Bug" was released, more details on it here.

    Major Changes and New Features:

    • Friend Rankings: In Drift Trials and Time Trials, you can now display leaderboards that shows only your friends. While it was difficult before to locate your friends in the general leaderboards, this now makes it easier to compare your lap times and points with them.

    Fixed Issues:

    • Performance points (PP), which is an index of a car’s overall performance, is now calculated regardless of your tire selection. You can now set performance point restrictions and tire restrictions separately when you race in a lounge.
    • Fixed the issue where the performance of electric cars increased/decreased after a certain amount of driving.
    • Downloaded replays from Seasonal Event Rankings can now be viewed properly.

    Other Changes:

    • Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system.
  • Patch to fix Gran Turismo 5 "Save File Destroying Bug" Goes Live

    The latest patch update for Gran Turismo 5 is now available for download. The update will address numerous issues faced by the gamers and also fix numbers of bugs and glitches specially "Save File Destroying Bug". Size of the update is 301 MB.

    The official confirmation regarding the patch being available for download was made by Kaz Yamauchi on Twitter.

  • Patch to fix Gran Turismo 5 "Save File Destroying Bug" on February 18, temporary solution available

    Gran Turismo 5 players these days are dealing with a unsual bug in the game called "Save File Destroying Bug". According to the reports every time gamers save their game in GT 5, the save file size increases by few KB (no details why this happens), and when the size of save file touches 4,165 KB it get crash.

    Gamers trying to load the file gets the following error message:

    "Insufficient free space on hard disk drive (HDD). At least 32MB required. Please exit the game and free up some space. 0×00000015 [217]"

    To fix this issue a patch update is currently in development and it will release on Febraury 18 (the update will also add Performance Points to the game).

    However there are some temporary solution given out for this bug, details for it is listed below check them out:

    • Check out the size of your save file, if it is nearing the "4,156KB", back up it onto a USB stick or on any devices.
    • Give visit to "Museum Cards" a miss, as it add hundreds of kilobyte to save game file all by itself
    • If you don't have any back up device and you save file is nearing the threshold then stop playing the game at all until you get a patch update.
  • Kaz Yamauchi: Next Patch for Gran Turismo 5 will be coming out later this month

    The wait is finally over of Gran Turismo 5 fans. All those who waited for the next patch update for the game can have a smile on their face as Polyphony Digital’s Kaz Yamauchi said that next patch for GT 5 will be coming out later this month.

    When quizzed about when GT 5 will the next patch update Kaz Yamauchi wrote on twitter "Will be updated in mid-February".
