  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit PC patch v1.03 available now

    Criterion has just released a new patch v1.03 for PC verion of NFS: Hot Pursuit. This new update fixes many issues in the game, the most noticeable one is crash issue caused by ATI graphics cards and embedded Intel graphics chipsets.

    Here is what the developer said about patch v1.03 for PC version of NFS: Hot Pursuit:

    "Fixes account for almost half (47%) of the crashes caused by the top 10 problems reported by our users. Specifically, crashes and rendering problems on ATI Radeon X1300, X1550 and X1800 graphics cards have been addressed.

    "Fixes are also included for Intel embedded graphics chipsets such as the Intel GMA 500, Intel GMA 600 and Intel GMA X3000 which are running older graphics drivers.

    "Another crash bug has also been resolved when running on graphics hardware that does not support DirectX Shader Model 3.0."

    Criterion further added, "The PC platform is very challenging with the diverse combinations of hardware and drivers but we're committed to learning and improving our experience in this area. We'll continue to analyse crashes as they're reported and we'll update again in the near future."

  • Criterion Announced three new DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

    It will be raining DLC for NFS: Hot Pursuit, Criterion has announced a total of three new DLC pack for the game which they will be releasing next week.

    The very first DLC will be called "Armed and Dangerous" which will feature two new game modes Most Wanted and Arms Race. It will also have 3 new trophies/achievements and will cost gamers €6.99/560 MS points

    Details of each mode is listed below:

    Most Wanted:
    In this mode, cops in the game will be after a specific racer, while other racers will be saving the target racer from getting caught.
    Arms Race: This mode will be free-for-all racing which will sees weapons enabled.

    The second DLC pack for the game will be called "Lamborghini Untamed", which will include both the Cop and Racer version of Lamborghini Diablo, Countach and Sesto Elemento. Along with all these, there will be 10 new events and 4 new Achievements/trophies. It will launch on March 1 for €6.99/560 MS points.

    The third DLC pack, Porsche Unleashed, will add 82 Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche 959 and 911 Speedster, 10 new events, and 4 achievements/trophies. It will release on March 8 carrying a price tag of €6.99/560 MS points.

  • EA: Medal of Honor and Hot Pursuit crossed 5 millions sales figure mark

    John Riccitiello, EA CEO, has announced that Medal of Honor and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit both crossed the five million sales figure marks to date.

    Revealing the sales figure Riccitiello said that "It's on a sharp uptick the last couple of years as we've driven high-quality titles ever higher in the charts, particularly in Europe but also in North America," he said during the publisher's overnight Q3 earnings call.

    Last year publisher launched five games title Madden NFL 11, Bad Company 2, FIFA 11, Medal of Honor and NFS Hot Pursuit, and all of them were big success, shipping more than five million mark.

  • EA: No DLC for PC version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

    Bad News for PC gamers as EA has announced that PC version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will not be getting the Super Sport DLC which will be coming out on console on December 21.

    This doesn't end here, on the official message board of the game developer Criterion has confirmed that PC version of the game won't be getting any DLC at all.

    Here is what the game message board reads:

    “We have a limited amount of resources that makes it so that we are unable to deliver new content to all platforms, however we do have more updates and content on the way for PC players.”

  • EA Announced First Premium DLC for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

    EA today has announced a new DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on the game official website.

    Going by the details revealed about the upcoming DLC, it will consist of

    • 12 New Events
    • New Achievements and Trophies
    • New Cars such as cop and racer version of (Bugatti Veyron SS, Porsche 977 GT 2, Gumpret Apollo).

    No release and pricing details is revealed but a trailer for the pack out on official site of the game which says to wait for more updates on it.

  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Second PC Patch Details Revealed

    Criterion on the official Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit website has announced that a second patch update for PC version of the game is in development and it will be coming out soon once its get ready.

    Complete details about the patch update is revealed, here is what to expect from the upcoming update:

    • Groundcover Graphical Errors: When alt-tabbing, the groundcover would start to corrupt, causing random tree images to appear all over the screen.
    • Controller Configurations: On some machines controller configurations that have been set up for wheels, pads, etc are not saving correctly to a configuration file. This is now fixed.
    • Rare crash when entering the Career map screen: The game sometimes crashes when entering the Career map screen quickly after booting the game.
    • Rare crash when streaming graphical data
    • Steering response reported as having large dead zone
    • Player car engine volume too low
    • Crashes affecting players with AMD / ATI Radeon graphics cards if they have overridden the AA settings in the control centre happens when players pick an event in the map screen prior to the car select. AMD/ATI has said this will be fixed in the next release of AMD’s drivers (10.12) around the second week of December.

  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit PC Patch Coming Out Next Week

    EA on the official Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit forum has announced that they will be releasing a patch update for the PC version of the game which will be coming out next week.

    They didn't reveal the exact release date for the game but it was confirmed that it will be coming out next week. Here is the details about the fixes and improvement that patch will include:

    • Fixed the problem that players were reporting where the game would crash on Car Select, Map Screen, Loading screen or just at the start of an event.
    • Fix Missing Rain / Snow and Corona effects
    • Fix CL Eye Driver crashing the game on startup
    • Fix Corrupted Dreamshots in non 16:9 aspect ratios
    • Addition of D-BOX motion chair support.
  • UK Charts: Call of Duty: Black Ops Beats Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and NFS: Hot Pursuit

    Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops has beaten both Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit to hold on to top spot in this week UK Charts, however Assassin's Creed 2 Sequel and Criterion racing reboot still manages second and third spot respectively.

  • Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit DLC Pack Available for Download

    EA didn't waste anytime and released a first two DLC pack for their latest release Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

    Both the DLC pack are available for download on Xbox Live and PSN. However both packs are timesaver packs.

    The Racer Timesaver Pack and SCPD Timesaver pack are available for only 320 MS Points ($3.99) through in-game Need for Speed Store.

    Both the pack will allow access to each and every car in the game on the either side, this implies that Racer Timesaver pack will give you access to all racer cars and vice versa in terms of SCPD pack.

  • EA: There Won't Be Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit PC Demo

    As promise earlier EA will be releasing the demo for their most anticipated game title Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Starting today (October 26) the demo will be available on Xbox Live and tomorrow (October 27) on Playstation Network.

    However PC gamers won't be getting their hands on teaser. The demo will be available for limited time period as it ends on November 9.
