Have you ever imagined or thaught why Treyarch is not launching any weapons pack for COD: Black Ops?, well according to community Josh Olin, it is not possible, and the reason for it, "technological limitations".
"I suppose a map-specific weapon is plausible," Olin mused when pressed on the subject in an OXM interview. "Weapons used to be map pickups. The problem is, it becomes a race to get to that spot rather than playing the map, or rather than playing the gametype - it encourages people to just go on a scavenger hunt."
"I know that fans have recommended an actual weapons pack, where you have new weapons for everybody," he went on.
"But that's not possible - it's a technological limitation. Even if we gave them away for free, not everyone would download the pack, so then you have people on the playlist who don't have it, you'd have the playlists that do have it and you couldn't have them together.
"It would be a nightmare logistically, and then we think about the technology - we just don't have any more memory to spare."
