  • Killzone 3 patch 1.12 coming out next week, details revealed

    Guerilla Games announced a new patch 1.12 for their sci-fi shooting game title Killzone 3. The patch is schedule to launch on September 6, and has some changes that will benefit fans of the game.

    CAREERS:

    • Changed Marksman’s scramble ability into an active ability – The marksman scramble ability now needs to be activated and deactivated via the d-pad, and has a cooldown period.
    • Increased tracking response for engineer turrets – The turn speed of turrets has been increased, allowing them to track players more easily.
    • Increased armor for engineer turrets (30%) – Turrets can still be destroyed by a single explosion from a grenade or missile launcher.

    WEAPONS:

    • Improved StA-2 Battle Pistol – Detonation time for the StA-2 Battle Pistol’s grenade is shorter, and the damage it deals is more severe.

    MAPS:

    • Added realtime projector to MP15 Radec Academy – A realtime projector has been added to the theater room, projecting onto the large wall with two doors.

    SOUND:

    • Toned down overly enthusiastic death screams – Aieeeeaaargh!

    MATCHES:

    • Increased mission points in Warzone – There is more of an incentive to go after mission objectives now.
    • Doubled cooldown time on mortars – Cooldown time was increased from 30 to 60 seconds to avoid spamming the Search & Destroy mission area.
    • Fixed tournaments not ending as soon as one clan leaves.
    • Fixed clans being able to rejoin games that were already finished – Clans used these exploits to boost their game wins and climb the leaderboards.
    • Reduced wait time at end of the round – The wait time was brought down from 60 to 45 seconds.
    • Reduced pre-game wait time at end of the round – The wait time was brought down from 30 to 20 seconds.

    INTERFACE:

    • Added menu option to disable Sixaxis-only actions – Sixaxis-only actions can now be switched off in the menu, so players only have to press ‘O’ to start an action. This will make Killzone 3 more accessible to disabled players.
    • Added map name to spawn screen – The map name can be seen in the top left, under the titles.
  • Killzone 3 patch v1.10 will launch tonight

    Guerrilla Games has announced that a new patch update for their PS3 exclusive shooting game title Killzone 3 will launch tonight. This new patch v1.10 for the game will carry large number of fixes and also new features based on players feedback.

  • Killzone 3 patch v1.08 available for download

    SURPRISE, Guerrilla Games has released new patch v1.08 for Killzone 3, initailly it was slated to release next week.

    The patch size is around 58MB, to download it all gamers need to do is start the game. The fixes this new patch includes are as follow:

    • Fix for DLC map rotation – Matchmaking will make the closest possible match based on the maps players have and other players online. All maps will be included in the map voting when rolling over to the next round
    • Fix for a network error (5022) after respawning in Pyrrhus Crater
    • Fix for a crash in Kaznan Jungle at the end of the round
    • Fix for a crash in 16 user Custom Games on Corinth Highway
  • Killzone 3 patch v1.08 will release next week, details revealed

    Guerrilla Games has just announced that a new patch v1.08 for Killzone 3 will be available for download next week.

    The developer also confirmed that along with the release of patch v1.08, Killzone 3 will have a server upgrade inorder to make multiplayer experience more smooth.

  • Killzone 3 patch v1.07 will launch tomorrow

    Guerrilla Games, developer of PS3 exclusive Killzone 3, has announced that a patch v1.07 will launch for the game tomorrow. The news was confirmed by developer on Killzone 3 official website.

    According to the details this update will include various bug fixes, and it will also add non-ranked custom games.

    • Bullet Damage and Faster Aim ribbon now unlock correctly
    • Separate turn speeds for ADS on Primary weapons in Multiplayer
    • Increased Accuracy ribbon effectiveness has been lowered

    • The 3rd person revive beam now shows correctly
    • Bilgarsk Boulevard - preventing players getting stuck at spawn location
    • Akmir Snowdrift – fixed a problem where the speaker object can fall beneath a piece of geometry

    • Blood Gracht – Fix for a hang when the Recon ability was used

    Functionality

    • Fixed a crash while joining a Warzone game

    Exploit

    • MAWLR Graveyard –Improved collision around one of the Capture and Hold locations
    • Kaznan Jungle – Added a blocker around a tree to prevent player to use tree to jump out of the level
    • Bilgarsk Boulevard  - Removed invisible collision of S&D objectives in Guerrilla Warfare
    • Bilgarsk Boulevard  - Prevent players from accessing an advantageous position (above the ISA Base) and climb out of the level

    Single Player Campaign

    • Scrapyard Shortcut - Mobile Factory – Fixed a hang to a red Debug screen upon the user reaching the Jetpack Troopers

    Menu

    • Added a “Mute all” button
    • Updated icons and text on the Medals statistics
    • Fixed clipped text for moderator messages
    • The Faster Reload ribbon now updates properly on the Personal statistics page
    • The Increased Accuracy ribbon now updates properly on the Personal statistics page
    • The Bullet Damage ribbon now updates properly on the Personal statistics page
    • Fixes a hang when accepting a squad invite on the final results screen of an online game
    • Fixed the Pause functionality in Botzone on the Class selection screen

    Move/Sharpshooter

    • Button configuration improvements - Swapped L1/L2 grenade and aim
    • Melee is now on the circle button
    • Multiplayer - Aim Lock will now time out after one second
    • Camera turn upped while using jetpack. Lowered for mounted weapons

    Explanation of Custom Games

    • Custom Games will be rolled out in 2 patches. This one (1.07) and a future patch. We don't know when this will be yet.

    PHASE ONE

    Phase One of Custom Games gives players the option to create unranked games with the choice of:

    • Game Mode
    • Map
    • Missions (Warzone only)
    • Mission Time (Warzone only)
    • Invite Squad members
    • Invite Enemy Squad Leader

    This gives players the ability to create private matches, and playing with and against friends or a rival clan for instance. People who don’t get an invite to these games won’t be able to join through matchmaking.

    PHASE TWO

    We still need to spec this out, so this is subject to change, but we are looking to add the options of choosing

    • More configuration options for missions in Warzone and Operations
    • Adjustable kill count for Guerrilla Warfare
    • Configurable Unlocks (choose which one you want to play with)
    • Configurable Classes (choose which one you want to play with)
    • Configurable Weapons, Abilities, Skills, Ribbons
    • Friendly Fire On/Off

  • Killzone 3 patch v1.06 available for download

    Guerrilla Games has just released a patch v1.06 for PS3 exclusive Killzone 3. For downloading the patch all you need to is log in and play Killzone 3 online, a notification will be given to you that new patch available for download.

    According to the details this new patch will fix game's performace issues. Official patch note for this new patch is not yet revealed, so stay tuned for more update on it.

    The developer has skip patch v1.05 for the game which contained fix for score processing issue saying, fix for this particular issue has been incorporated in patch v1.06, and they did this inorder to get both fixes out as soon as possible.

    • Players now have more stamina by default.  Sprint length is increased but the recharge timer has been adjusted to compensate
    • Mortally wounded players no longer have collision. Alive players should now be able to traverse the levels without getting stuck on mortally wounded players
    • Medic's revive cool-down reduced from 25 to 10 seconds
    • Increased range from where friendly players can be revived - player can be revived from 20 meters now
    • Guerrilla Warfare games now last 15 minutes and it takes 100 kills instead of 50 to win

    • Show envelope icon to indicate that player has received message
    • Rewards panel in post game screen now auto-scrolls

  • Killzone 3 first patch update goes live

    The very first patch update for Killzone 3 has gone live now, all gamers need to do is boot up the game later this midnight, a new patch update will be automatically pushed into the console, whose size is around 40MB only.

    This new patch update will officially open up the servers of the game, and will also add many new options in the game. After successfully installing the first patch "Downloadable Content" option will be visible in the game's main menu.

  • Guerrilla Games detailed post-launch patch of Killzone 3

    Guerrilla Games has announced the details about the post-launch patch for the upcoming PS3 exclusive game title Killzone 3. The developer said that the upcoming patch will not only fix issues but will also make improvement in the game's multiplayer mode based on the gamers feedback that they recieved during the multiplayer beta.

    This new patch will be available for gamers shortly after the release of the game. Here is what Guerrilla said:

    "We'd like to thank all of you for taking such an active part in the Killzone community and we sincerely appreciate all of the time you've put into the open beta test. We simply can't thank you enough!" concluded the Killzone multiplayer team.

    You can check change log below:

    • Support for colour-blind players
    • Implement unranked custom games for players to create private or clan matches
    • Enhanced custom games functionality that will allow players to: Control over games modes and settings; Secure games, allowing you to invite the players you want to play with; The ability to prevent abilities and weapons from being used; Toggling on and off functionality, such as ribbons, skills, explosives, etc; Selecting which careers you want available to players; Allow friendly fire to be turned on or off; Faction switching enabled or disabled.
    • The Clan Officer role will be added to clans Separate turn speeds for hip-fire and ADS
    • Overly enthusiastic death screams will be toned down
    • Increased the amount of kills required to win a Guerrilla Warfare match
    • Increased Accuracy ribbon will have its effectiveness lowered
    • Likewise, the Bullet Damage ribbon will have its effectiveness lowered as well
    • Matches will end if the other team forfeits (i.e. too few, or no players on the enemy team)
    • Matchmaking enhancements that will close and merge games based on player count, which will keep games more full
    • Balance factions out by moving players to the other team at the end of the match if one team is lopsided
    • The ability to turn off HUD markers for point pop-ups and objectives
    • A menu option to allow squad-only chat
    • The addition of a Mute All button
    • Scoreboard flickering will be fixed
    • Clans will no longer get matched against other clans that have many more players than they do (i.e. 4 vs. 7, 5 vs. 8)
