A new lawsuit has been filed against Publisher Electronic Arts and this time it is in response to a price price inflation on all Madden titles by up to 70%.
EA who has an exclusive rights agreement with NFL in accordance with these price inflations said to have violated the antitrust and consumer protection laws by holding these exclusive licenses with the NFL and others companies including NCAA and Arena Football League.
Hagens Berman a law firm which is representing the consumer in this case said that “we believe EA forced consumers to pay an artificial premium on Madden NFL games.”
Electronic Arts has received demand of about 6,000 ex -players in the NFL due to misuse of his image in the video game Madden NFL 09. Electronic Arts does not pay for the licenses that allowed the use of these veterans of football, but then uses a very similar images each with a different name and dorsal .
However, the resemblance seems too obvious to the applicants, who also blamed the company that has built-in editor to edit the name and jersey easily.
