  • Sony sending out PS Home special private beta

    Well guys it seems like Playstation Home is about to launch a special beta. Just a few hours ago Sony sent out invites for a Special Beta that Home will be offering.

    Sony has sent the invites via PSN, so do check your PSN accounts on your PS3. Check out details about the beta below:

    Details on the beta:

    Log Into Home and go to personal Space
    Press start> settings > Personal> Redocorate
    Select Private Beta Teleporter
    Walk to Teleporter

    Other changes:

    New Hub have been reported added (No more loading screens or less) along with some new games

  • PS Home update 1.55 coming out today, details revealed

    Sony has just announced on EU PS Blog that a major Playstation update version 1.55 will be released today.

    According to the details revealed, this new update for Playstation will feature following fixes and updates:

    Start-Up

    • Improved the layout, design, color scheme and text of the start-up flow.
    • The start-up flow will now display a variety of information depending on how recently you last visited PlayStation Home.

    Wardrobe and Furniture Browser

    • When you are browsing through a category of items in the wardrobe or furniture browser we now display the name of the object you have highlighted.
    • There is an option in the Menu Pad under "Options > Settings > Personal > Clothing / Furniture Names" to change this behavior: Off: Switches the display of names off; Selected: Displays the name of the selected object only (default); All: Displays names for all objects.
    • You can click L3 to display more information about the highlighted object. This will pop up a menu showing: name; description; image; whether it is a purchase, reward or part of the default inventory; date of acquisition (if relevant).
    • In addition to the name changes the overall speed of the wardrobe and furniture browser has been significantly increased.

    General

    • Added an option to manually clear the cache of data that Home creates on your HDD. This can sometimes resolve problems that you might be having. You can find it in the Menu Pad under "Options > Settings > Personal > Clear Cache".

    Menu Pad

    • There is an option to view "Help" from the carousel on the Menu Pad. This is only available to new users.
    • There is an option to "Redecorate" on the carousel on the Menu Pad. This is only available when you are in your Personal Space or a Clubhouse that you own (i.e. somewhere that you can place furniture).

    Loading Screen Tips

    • Different loading screen tips are now shown depending on how many times you have visited PlayStation Home.

    According to a thread over official US PlayStation Home forums, an anonymous user has leaked PS Home v1.55 upgrade.

  • Playstation Home "Welcome Back" Content for Europe revealed

    The details related to European Welcome Back Package for Playstation Home has been revealed. Sony will be releasing this European welcome back package this week.

  • PlayStation Home patch v1.5 details revealed

    The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine has revealed the details regarding PlayStation Home patch v1.5. According to the details in the magazine this new patch update will completely revolutionize PS Home.

    • Players will be able to play both competitive and cooperative FPS games.
    • Accessing the Hub will be more smoother and faster
    • More co-op games will be made for PS Home
    • Sony is looking into working with a lot of publishers on a certain project.

  • Sony: Playstation Home Update 1.5 will launch in Spring 2011

    Sony has confirmed that Playstation Home Update 1.5 will launch this Spring which will add real time multiplayer support for the games, and along with that it will improved the graphics and physics.

    At GDC roundtable, developer Lockwood announced that Sodium 2: Project Velocity, a sequel to Home attraction Sodium, will be the very first title to take advantage of all the new features.

    Since its launch two years ago, PlayStation Home has evolved into a dynamic social game platform, and with the update to version 1.5, we’re giving developers the tools to create even more compelling high quality game experiences,” said Jack Buser, director of PlayStation Home, Sony Computer Entertainment America. ”Lockwood is one of the first to push the capabilities of this new technology with Sodium2-Project Velocity, and the result is incredible.
