Tonight at Nintendo Direct, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata spoke about issues related to Wii U. Even after the release of latest firmware update for Wii U, users are still complaning about the update and program start load times, but the good news is that these will be addressed pretty soon, Iwata said.
On Twitter, Cheesemeister stated, "Iwata apologizes for #WiiU Premium Set shortages. System update, program start loading times to be addressed."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President has said it clearly that the firm will not provide any software for free of cost to gamers.
In an interview to "All Things Digital" Iwata said, "If we were simply going to say OK, the only the way we could sell more products is by decreasing the price, then there wouldn’t be a bright future and the entire industry will fold,"
"When we look at the entire system of freemium, it’s not always that everyone is happy with the offers. Actually, there’s only a limited number of people who are willing to pay and many others are not paying for game titles at all.
"Nintendo is not interested. … I’m not interested in offering software free of charge."
Nintendo head honco Satoru Iwata has left it on consumer to decide which one is better and correct 3DS or NGP. Speaking in a Tokyo earnings call Iwata said the success of 3DS or NGP in the longer run will be decided by customer.
“They’re trying to appeal to customers from a different direction than us. The customers will decide which is correct,” Iwata said.
He futher added “Nintendo is not the kind of company that thinks about how we oppose other company’s product.”
3DS will be coming out in Japan on February 26, on March 25 in Europe and on March 27 in United Kingdom. Son'y NGP is expected to release in Christmas 2011.
