  • Wii U system update and load time issues fix coming soon: Iwata

    Tonight at Nintendo Direct, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata spoke about issues related to Wii U. Even after the release of latest firmware update for Wii U, users are still complaning about the update and program start load times, but the good news is that these will be addressed pretty soon, Iwata said.

  • Satoru Iwata: Nintendo will not offer software free of cost

    Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President has said it clearly that the firm will not provide any software for free of cost to gamers.

    In an interview to "All Things Digital" Iwata said, "If we were simply going to say OK, the only the way we could sell more products is by decreasing the price, then there wouldn’t be a bright future and the entire industry will fold,"

    "When we look at the entire system of freemium, it’s not always that everyone is happy with the offers. Actually, there’s only a limited number of people who are willing to pay and many others are not paying for game titles at all.

    "Nintendo is not interested. … I’m not interested in offering software free of charge."

  • Nintendo: Wii U will cost more than $250

    Satoru Iwata has hinted that Wii U, which was unveiled last night during firm's E3 press conference, will carry a price tag of more than $250.

    In an interview to Nikkei, Iwata said that the handheld will mostly likely cost more than ¥20,000 (that's aomething £150 or $250 after conversion).

  • Satoru Iwata: Customer to Decide which is correct 3DS or NGP

    Nintendo head honco Satoru Iwata has left it on consumer to decide which one is better and correct 3DS or NGP. Speaking in a Tokyo earnings call Iwata said the success of 3DS or NGP in the longer run will be decided by customer.

    “They’re trying to appeal to customers from a different direction than us. The customers will decide which is correct,” Iwata said.

    He futher added “Nintendo is not the kind of company that thinks about how we oppose other company’s product.”

    3DS will be coming out in Japan on February 26, on March 25 in Europe and on March 27 in United Kingdom. Son'y NGP is expected to release in Christmas 2011.

  • No Price Drop of Wii this Holiday Season: Satoru Iwata

    This one is for all those consumers who are waiting for Nintendo to drop the price of Wii this Holiday season so that they get it at a cheaper rate.

    Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has said that they have no intention of dropping the price for Wii in near future.


    Speaking to Associated Press Iwata said

    "Of course, we cannot say it will never happen, but we are not thinking of it for the near future,"

    "Those who really wanted it would have already bought it so now we need to reach those who considered it but never got around to buying it."
