With the celebration of 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros, Nintendo has announced the upcoming launch in Japan of a certificate to complement this anniversary, which will be renamed Super Mario Bros. Anniversary Edition.
This is a reissue of the legendary Super Mario All-Stars for Nintendo, which contains the following Super Mario titles:
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.
It includes a booklet that reviews the history of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and all the titles in the series through artworks and pictures, plus a CD that includes a selection of the best compositions in the series.
Its release is set for October 21 in Japan and for now, no comments arrived on whether it will come to the West or not.
It is undeniable that everyone who read this, like it or not, Super Mario still holds the title King of the platforms.
Nintendo is celebrating because 25 years ago, Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan for Famicom, also known as NES.
"Stimulated by advancements in technologies, we have always enjoyed creating the Super Mario Bros. games. The series has always taken advantage of the latest technological advancements and is the fruit of creativity of many of my hard-working friends working closely as a team" says the creator of the character, Shigeru Miyamoto.
Among all the titles of the franchise now total over 240 million units sold worldwide .
To celebrate the event, Nintendo has opened a website where members can participate by submitting a video with your opinion about the series, your memories, congratulations or anything else you can think of related to Super Mario, to which other fans can comment.
If i would ask you the very first game you played or heard i am sure many will say Mario, well atleast me. Now just think and imagine if the main character in Mario is replaced with pac man or Lizzie or TedTrad, how the game would have played. Reggie Fils-Aime at the time of Nintendo E3 keynote at E3 announces and introduces a new sports collection for Wii, Mario Sports Mix. Exepected to be release in 2011 Mario Sports Mix features a slew of nintendo icons like Mario, Bowser and Peach.
The Mario Sports Mix will features sports such as dodgeball, hockey, volleyball and basketball.
New Super Mario Bros Wii have achieved a new milestone. New Super Mario Bros Wii which was launch in November 2009, has cross the sales mark of over 10 millions units all around the world. New Super Mario Bros Wii is the first game title to cross the 10 million mark so quickly according to the Nikkei.
Out of these 10 millions units of New Super Mario Bros Wii, more than 3 million is sold in Japan, 4.5 million in North America, and approximately 3 million in Europe. In United State, New Super Mario Bros Wii broke the sales record of Super Mario Galaxy where a dream mark of 2.82 million unit were sold in just a short span time of 45 days.
