Yesterday at GDC 2013, Mark Rein has confirmed that Unreal Engine 4 will not be supporting Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360. In a Q&A session at GDC, Mark Rein was asked, "whether Unreal Engine 4 will run on Wii U or not?"
DICE summit is well underway, and we have just got a breaking news from their, Epic Games Vice President, Mark Rein has just stated that Unreal Engine 4 is running on "Including systems we can’t name yet."
The word "Including" from Mark Rein here means many things. First and the foremost, the next generation consoles far into development, and second thing, Wii U may have a new name at upcoming E3 event.
Mark Rein has already confirmed fans will see Unreal Engine 4 in action later this year.
I am really getting excited about Unreal Engine 4. What you guys think, let us know in the comment section below.
Cliff Bleszinski has been known to create a huge hype whenever Epic Games has something big in store to reveal, and this is happening again. GDC is just around the corner and Bleszinski is claiming on twitter that this year Epic's booth will showcase what the "Next" generation in the gaming industry will be.
On twitter Cliff wrotes: "To reiterate - our GDC booth will show Epic's proposal of what the *NEXT* generation will be. Graphics aren't good enough yet, dammit".
Cliff is claiming "graphics aren't good enough yet", what exactly the man is talking about, is it the next iteration of Unreal Engine i.e Unreal Engine 4?, may be who knows. We just have to wait and watch.
GDC will run from February 28-March 4, 2011.
UPDATE: Epic Games has officially announced that it will showcase Unreal Engine 4 at GDC.
Epic president Mike Capps said, “This technology demonstration is nothing short of breathtaking. It reminds me of when we first showed Unreal Engine 3 to the world and
people were amazed,”
“It’s like seeing the Unreal Engine all over again for the very first time.”
Last month Epic Games president, Mark Rein confirmed that Unreal Engine will be fully compatible with the Sony's Next Generation Console (NGP), and now handheld maker has announced via press release that Crytek's "CryEngine" suite will also be compatible with the upcoming handheld.
