  • Dead Space 4 Cancelled by EA due to "Poor Sales of Dead Space 3": Rumor (Update)

    Update:

    "While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the
    game and the franchise remains an important IP to EA," an EA
    spokesperson told Joystiq.

    Electronic Arts has canned Dead Space 4 (next installment in popular Dead Space franchise) and has also axed the entire series following poor sales of Dead Space 3, according to anonymous trusted source close to VideoGamer.

    Dead Space 4On condition of anonymity, the source told VideoGamer, "Dead Space 4 had been in pre-production at Visceral Games, with a small team at Visceral Montreal allegedly tasked with developing prototypes and mock-ups for the title, and collaborating on ideas for the game's narrative."

    The source went on to add, "however, the project was cancelled after Dead Space 3 failed to meet its sales targets"

    Furthermore, it has been rumored that Visceral Montreal (developer behind Dead Space series) have cloded down following restructuring.

    We have not yet received any comment from EA on this, and so we advice our readers to take the above details with a grain of salt.

  • Free Dead Space 2: Outbreak DLC to feature new multiplayer maps

    Visceral has annnounced a new free DLC titled "Outbreak" for Dead Space 2 multiplayer componenet. The announcement was made on game's Facebook page, it was revealed that the DLC will feature two new maps "The Academy and The Concourse".

    Dead Space 2: Outbreak DLC is slated to release on May 31 for Xbox Live, and on June 3 on PSN for FREE OF COST.

  • Visceral started development work on next Dead Space title, posts job openings

    Electronic Arts has posted a couple of job openings on its Montreal Visceral Games website. They are currently looking for a senior development director and a lead writer for Dead Space franchise.

    Both the posting points out, and its not a surprise at all, Visceral is gearing up for the next installment in Dead Space franchise, especially considering the ending and post credit sequence in Dead Space 2.

  • UK Charts: Dead Space 2 remove LittleBigPlanet 2 from top spot

    Details about this week UK Charts is out now, and its Visceral horror "Dead Space 2" that has claimed the top position, replacing last week topper LittleBigPlanet 2.

    Dead Space 2 also topped the Xbox 360 chart, whereas it lands in second place on PS3 abd PC charts. LittleBigPlanet lands in at second spot, with EA's FIFA 11 at third. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Black Ops completes top five.
