The Evil Within 2 launches this Friday, Oct. 13, and it’s bringing its unique brand of terror with it.
There’s a new launch trailer out detailing just some of the horrors you’ll see while exploring the insidious synthetic STEM world in-game with lead character Sebastian Castellanos.
The game follows Castellanos as he goes in search of his daughter Lily, who was originally presumed missing. Along the way, he’ll meet up with bizarre creatures, like a long-haired woman who appears to be made up of body parts, psychotic photographers, and other deranged monsters who only look human.
The Evil Within 2 is a lot creepier in looks alone than its predecessor. It seems to have improved on 2014’s The Evil Within, from its grotesque visuals to its narrative, which seems more deeply entrenched in body horror and other disturbing concepts.
You can take it for a spin on your own this Friday when it launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s recommended that you go ahead and play through The Evil Within before jumping into the sequel so you’ll have a better appreciation of what’s going on, raising the stakes even higher.
