Nintendo just revealed the size of the first games releasing for Nintendo Switch in Japan. Among the launch titles, there’s already one digital game which you won’t be able to install on your base memory, and possibly you’ll need an expansion SD card to have it installed and play directly on the go/on your television screen.
It’s Dragon Quest Heroes, which according to the Japanese platform holder itself takes up 32GB. So users willing to get their fair share of Dragon Quest upon Nintendo Switch’s launch will be required to buy a separate SD card, otherwise they’ll have to get a physical copy. Switch supports SDXC cards up to 2TB, which are not on the market yet.
Other titles’ sizes have been revealed, too. Disgaea 5 is 5.9GB, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be just over 7GB. Breath of Wild is 13.4GB, which is over half the Switch’s available memory once you take the OS and other necessary files into account.
Nintendo Switch is releasing on March 3. Dragon Quest Heroes is not among launch titles in the West.
