The architecture of both next-gen consoles i.e PS4 and Xbox One are pretty similar to high-end gaming PC and CD Projekt RED’s love for PC platform is known to each and everyone of us.
So in a recent Eurogamer Interview, CD Projekt RED’s Lead Engine Programmer Balaza Torok was asked to explained the complications developers faced in multiplatform development?.
In response to this query, Balaza Torok went on and said PlayStation 4′s API is a little more complicated than Xbox One’s. He replied: “The Xbox One is pretty easy to understand because not just the hardware is similar to the PC, but everything like the SDK, the API is really similar to what you would find on a PC. On PS4 this is a little bit more complicated, but I personally worked on PS3 before.”
He however later added and pointed out that Playstation 4 is lot more accessible to developers than its predecessor Playstation 3.
“For PS3 it was very important to have a community, to share the information in some ways, but for now it’s much easier and everyone will use their PC knowledge and possible previous console knowledge to reach the limit”
This is a first instance where a developer praise something for Xbox One against Playstation 4. So we would like to ask you guys, do you agree with the views of CD Projekt RED?, share your views with us in the comment section below.
