The Last Guardian has been in development since 2007, and was officially announced by Sony and Team Ico at E3 2009 with a planned release in 2011 exclusively for Playstation 3. The game has since suffered numerous delays and further complications, it reach to a points that Sony have started being secretive about the game and are downplaying questions on new release and platform to which it will be coming.
In a recent interview to Metro, Playstation Europe Boss, Jim Ryan talked a bit about The Last Guardian and stated why Sony are being so secretive about the game, and are not openly talking about it.
After bribing Ryan with a small Dundee cake, Metro asked: “when is The Last Guardian out?”, to which he replied: “[laughs] It’s still being worked on.”
The conversation went on for a while, and Metro got an opportunity to ask Ryan: “Why Sony are being so secretive about The Last Guardian”, and to this Ryan assured that the game is going to be special.
“Well, it’s gonna be special.”
Sony Worldwide Studio Boss Shuhei Yoshida has already confirmed that The Last Guardian won’t make an appearance at upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2014. This means players now have their hopes pinned down on next year’s E3 i.e. E3 2015.
