Sunset Overdrive, the next big title from Insonmiac Games is coming exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox One. This was one of the most surprising announcement at E3 2013 because Insomniac Games previously worked exclusively for Playstation platforms, “Resistance franchise and Ratchet and Clank”. Today, via Twitter and NeoGaf, James Stevenson, Community Lead at Insomniac Games explained why and how the exclusive deal for Sunset Overdrive with Microsoft happened.
Via Twitter, Stevenson praised Microsoft for making Sunset Overdrive happend and embraced its vision.
“say what you want, but they made that game happened and embraced its vision. Been terrific partners” tweeted Stevenson.
At NeoGaf, when some Playstation gamers complained about missing out on SunSet Overdrive, Stevenson replied:
“sorry you feel that way, but know we had to partner with the right group that believed in us and the vision of the game, wanted to see that vision came to life, and was ok with us retaining the rights to our creation.
In all of those regards, Microsoft has been a terrific partner in making Sunset Overdrive reality.”
Does this mean Insomniac’s condition of “Retaining Rights To IP” is the reason behind no Playstation 4 port? The game looks pretty fun and interesting..
