Bethesda have announced the minimum and recommended specs for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The game is built on idTech 6 which brings a few changes to the game. This engine boasts uncapped framerates and up to 4K resolution. It will also support a range of aspect ratios including 4:3, 16:9, 16:10 and 21:9 (ultra widescreen). The game has been built using the Vulkan API, after they found great success with it in Doom.

Using Vulkan when developing has allowed us to utilize the power of AMD’s VEGA graphics chips in ways that were not possible before, giving us fine grained control over the performance and feature set of the GPU without having to sacrifice artistic intent. Combined with the flexibility of AMD’s hardware, Vulkan gives us the artistic freedom to deliver Wolfenstein without compromise.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will also support a range of colorblind modes including Protanopia, Deuteranopia and Tritanopia. It is great to see more and more developers support options for colorblind gamers.
