Xbox One without Kinect making serious comeback in North America, PS4 worldwide sale 51 million units by 2016: IDC Report

Well known research firm, “International Data Corporation IDC” is all set to publish its latest console forecast in few days time but today, they provided our friend at GameIndustry an exclusive look at the report preview. The details posted by GI are pretty interesting and there are some startling forecast related to dominance of Playstation 4, comeback of Xbox One in North America, price cut for Wii U and decline is retail video-game sales.

Xbox One vs PS4IDC predicts that by 2016, Sony’s Playstation 4 will have the single biggest share of the market with whooping 51 million units worldwide sale. In addition to this, IDC states that Microsoft will make a series comeback with Xbox One is North America and will take a lead all thanks to unbundling of controversial Kinect.

IDC explained:

“The presumed unbundling of Kinect and Xbox One, which should facilitate rough price parity between it and the PS4, should lead to a spike in Xbox One sales; assuming the console and sensor are unbundled in 2015, IDC expects Xbox One to recover and emerge with the largest installed base of any console in North America by the end of 2016,”

IDC also predicted that Nintend will announce a $50 price cut for Wii U across the globe in late 2014 or early part of 2015, however this is not expected to make a massive changes to installed base gap between Wii U and all its competitor.
