Aaron Greenberg: Not Planning Any Xbox One X Bundles For Holiday 2017

Microsoft and Team Xbox got the start they wanted with the Xbox One X. It was revealed yesterday that Xbox One X is off to a great start in the United Kingdom as it sold over 80000 Units in the first week of its launch. Why is this start impressive? because Xbox One X managed to beat PlayStation 4 Pro by a good margin – back in November 2016, PlayStation 4 Pro sold just over 50K units in the first week. This is a great news for Team Xbox and Microsoft just ahead of all important Holiday Season 2017. With this great start we expected Microsoft to Bundle Xbox One X with few recently released games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Shadow of War, or with some already released games that have been enhanced for Xbox One X like The Witcher 3, but to my surprise, this is not going to be the case.

Xbox One X - Holiday 2017 Bundle

Xbox Games Marketing Boss Aaron Greenberg has clarified that for Holiday Season 2017, Microsoft and Team Xbox are not going to bundle Xbox One X with any games. When asked by a fan on Twitter – Are there going to be Xbox One X bundle with already released games like Dishonored 2, Rime or new games like Destiny 2 and LA Noir this black Friday? Greenberg replied: “We are not planning any bundles with the X this holiday.”

This is a surprising move, I expected Microsoft to at least bundle Xbox One X with some of the already released first-party games, but it seems like they have some other plans. This decision might have come in their mind possibly because PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is scheduled to launch on Xbox on December 4 – the only big exclusive content (timed or full-time exclusive only time will tell) for Xbox One in 2017 – they might want fans to invest the money in a brand new game on Xbox One X rather than going for an already released one.
