Recently Call of Duty: Ghosts was officially confirmed to run at 720p on Xbox One by Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin, and this gave an impression to Gaming Community across the globe that the console is not at all capable of to achieve 1080p resolution.
On October 30, Mark Rubin said: “Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4.”
“We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.”
Microsoft’s Major Nelson via Reddit has issued a clarification that Xbox One fully supports native 1080p resolution at 60 FPS, and its upto individual developers to determine what resolution best fits their design goals.
“Xbox One fully supports native 1080p output at 60 fps.”
Nelson further added, “It is up to individual developers to determine what resolution best fits their design goals.”
