Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise is back with the latest installment, "Assassin's Creed: Revelations". The Assassin's Creed franchise has been one of personal favourite, and i grew a huge attachment to it just because of its mysteries, characters, and setting. The franchise started with somewhat decent first entry in the original Assassin's Creed, but it quickly raised its bar to become one of the most beloved franchise of current generation.

With the latest installment in the franchise, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ubisoft is wrapping up the Ezio trilogy once and for all, and at the same time answering lots of questions that fans of the franchise have been eager to get.

Is Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a perfect conclusion to Ezio journey?, Lets check out The GOODs and BADs of Assassin's Creed: Revelations in our review.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Assassin's Creed franchise is well known for its phenomenal story and narration. The best part is that franchise has deep storyline, and it references to some of the most important people in history. During Ezio time, we have seen early years of Leonardo Di Vinchi, and now in the last chapter of Ezio, players will get to meet Suleiman (Younger). In Assassin's Creed: Revelations players will get to explore old city streets of Constantinople and unlocks it secret.

The story of Assassin's Creed: Revelations take place right after the events of Brotherhood. Desmond goes in coma due to events that occurred at the end of Brotherhood. He has been put in Animus in an effort to stabilize him. All Desmond now needs to do is dive into the memories of "Ezio and Atair" for one last time to complete all their memories, and regain consciousness once again.

As for Ezio, he is on a journey to hunt a "LIBRARY". This is the same library that Ezio father sought during Ezio's early years. This library is hidden beneath the old castle of Masyaf and it holds powerful artifact. To protect this artifact from Templars, Altair locked it with a total of five different keys and scattered all of them all over the old city streets of Constantinople. Once again Ezio will clash with Templars, in his quest to search all these five keys.

The gameplay of Assassin's Creed: Revelations remain pretty much the same as previous games in the franchise, but there are some tweaks and improvements. The newly added "HOOKBLADE" enables gamers to move around the city a lot faster. It also gives them a new and different ways to assassinate enemies. Combat section in Revelations looks more solid, and the developer has improved the AI of enemies as well to be more challenging.

One of the key and biggest addition to Combat section is "BOMB" creation system. In Revelations, players can make use of variety of different materials to create hundreds of different type of bombs that they can use in combat. This new system has definitely added a brand new option as to how players approach combat in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

New Addition in Multiplayer

In addition to story mode, Assassin's Creed: Revelation features multiplayer portion that fans of the franchise will definitely love. The developer has added many new things to it in-order to make it even more motivating for gamers to play.

The multiplayer portion of Assassin's Creed: Revelations feature new modes such as Artifiact Assault (similar to Capture the Flag), and Deathmatch mode. When it comes to selecting characters, there's also few new stuff available. The new characters to expect in ACR multiplayer portion is Ottoman Doctor.

The new modes are really a nice addition to the game, but according to me it will only appeal to fans who enjoyed it in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

The BAD:

Same Old Feeling

Many fans of the franchise might find Assassin's Creed: Revelations a dull game because everything is very much similar to the past two games that features Ezio. This might be the case only with gamers who played Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. If you eliminate the new stuffs mentioned above, you will feel as if you are playing an expansion. However most fans will play this game just because of its STORY.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations offers fans the same old formula that was used in previous Assassin's Creed game. Assassin's Guild makes a comeback with only few improvements. Players will once again capture enemy base territory, recruit Assassin's for help and so on. Players who played Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood already know what to expect from Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations visual are still the same as previous games in the franchise. The textures, character models, environments and building looks the same as Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood. The only improvements i say is how Ezio and other characters look. One thing where Assassin's Creed: Revelations stand out is the phenomenal voices, the developer has once again succeeded in telling a story that all franchise fans will appreciate.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations has lives up-to to all the expectations of fans, despite being familiar with previous titles in the franchise. The one thing that fans will love in Assassin's Creed: Revelations is story. The game did a superb job of wrapping up Ezio/Altair arc of the story. For old Assassin's Creed fans Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a must have title. Fans who are new to franchise, we advice you to first play Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for better understanding of gameplay story.

  • Awesome Single Player campaign with lots of side quests
  • All New additions to the game

  • Decent Multiplayer but not out of this world
