The wait is finally over as the next installment in the popular Assassin's Creed franchise titled as "Assassin's Creed III" has arrived. It's now time to deliver our verdict on the game. I know you are very much excited and curious to know How GOOD or BAD Assassin's Creed III is, So i won't be playing any sorts of guessing or waiting game with you guys and straight away let you know that Assassin's Creed III is the best game in the entire Assassin's Creed franchise history, and the reason behind this claim are "gorgeous and stunning looking landscapes, massive open world, detailed cities, wild and deadly animals, combat system, dialogue, overall presentation, conspiracies and many more things.

Assassin's Creed III Box Art

Gamers will experience all these thing just within the first 15 or 20 minutes of Assassin's Creed III, setting a perfect platform for a spectacular ending. Apart from these things, Assassin's Creed III is the biggest and the longest game in Assassin's Creed franchise, it features a total of 12 chapters.

Let's take a look at other excellent qualities of Assassin's Creed III in our review below.

Massive Open World

The world featured in Assassin's Creed III is massive and never ending one. The Frontier in the game looks pretty natural with deep forests, wild and deadly animals and some gorgeous looking high end cliffs that allow gamers to explore the entire Frontier easily. Gamers will be amaze with gorgeous looking graphics and visuals in Assassin's Creed III. The lightning effect is next to realism especially in water, environment and surroundings.

Gamers will take on the role of Connor in the game, as he makes his way through trees and branches, he will notice that Frontier is full of life featuring wild and deadly animals, soldiers and civilians (calling you for help). In addition to these, Frontier also feature tons of hidden clues that Connor must find to fulfill his quest of Revenge and Justice.

Combat System

Assassin's Creed III Combat system is one of the easiest i have ever came across. Basically there are only two buttons to controls gamer's attack, one for each weapon. Gamers also get access to block as well as disarm button. A flashing indicator is ON over head of an enemies who are about to attack you, and so this prompt you make use of a block button. These controls fits together perfectly and at no instance you will see Connor shutter.

Certain section of gamers may complaint about the simplicity of this combat system, Connor transcends from attack to defend and vice-versa makes up for this. As an example take this scene, as your are attacking a enemy, another one will come forward and try to attack you from behind, now to block this back attack, Connor will throw his tomahawk over his shoulder, this transcends looks really stunning. Now take a case when more than one enemy are about to attack at a same time and somehow you manages to block them. Now immediately after the block, Connor will chains all attack together in one of the most BRUTAL way. This is shown in slow motion, and just look astonishing.

The free running in Assassin's Creed III is much much better as compared to other game in the franchise. There are numerous new additions, now Connor is able to jump and climb V shaped trees and structures pretty easily.

Assassin's Creed III story is pretty engaging and unique, its all about Connor's Revenge and Justice for his people, but the most interesting part to look out for is conspiracies. I won't be giving out any details whatsoever about story because its better that you enjoy the every qualities on your own.

New Addition: Hunting

Ubisoft has added one interesting thing to Assassin's Creed III, "Hunting", previous games in the series does not feature this. This new addition works similar to that of Red Dead Redemption. Gamers can hunt animals in the game and sell their pelt to general store for a certain amount. The value of prey depends directly on the way you kill. If you select a gory and bloody method to kill your prey than its value won't fetch a good amount, however if you make use of hidden blade or your snare from your armor to kill the prey, you will get a better deal.

Minor Flaws

As mention above, Assassin's Creed III features massive open world, so some sort of glitch are bound to come. This game also has it fair share of bug and glitches for example floating weapons, dead animals and more. But when you take into account the size of Assassin's Creed III, these flaws are nothing and can be ignored easily.

Weak AI

In Assassin's Creed III, enemies are bit weak in fighting battles, however not on all instance or level, but still this makes the game pretty easy to deal with even though AI has a strong support of wild and deadly animals.

  • Massive Open World and Tons of things to do as it features 20 chapters
  • Excellent Story
  • Gorgeous and stunning overall presentation

  • Slightly Weak AI
  • Some Minor Glitch

The best part of Assassin's Creed III is main storyline which make this game a must-have for all types of gamers. Assassin's Creed III is really a masterpiece from Ubisoft, massive open world, story, depth of gameplay and longevity. This game will definitely restore the confidence of fans on Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed franchise which was on a decline due to annual release and repetition factor. For me, Assassin's Creed III is one of the top contender for Game of the Year Award 2012.
