Not everything is a direct path in Remnant: From the Ashes. A lot of the material players encounter in their game gets procedurally generated. All of the item locations, dungeon layouts, enemy appearances, and the bosses happen at different times for all of the players. Luckily, not everything is this way. For example, there’s a specific floor puzzle that’s stumping players at the moment that has a single answer across every world seed in Remnant: From the Ashes. Here’s the break down to how this puzzle works and what you need to do to solve it.

How to Solve the Floor Puzzle in Remnant: From the Ashes

Where Is it?

The first step to solving the floor puzzle is to know where to find it. You’re going to find it on Rohm.

You can find the puzzle at the Monolith structure. You’ll know you’ve found the Monolith as it’s going to have a large, red stone, similar to the one located at Ward 13 and other checkpoints. If this is first time arriving, make sure to touch the red stone before you doing anything to return to Ward 13 or take care of anything else you need to do. Come back to the Monolith when you’re ready to attempt the puzzle.

Before you attempt the puzzle, make sure to clear the area of any enemies. It’s better to try and complete the puzzle when you have no enemies around you.

How Do You Solve it?

The red stone in front of the large tower is your starting point. A short distance away from the stone is a tile with strange carvings on it. You want to stand here. Turn to face the red stone, and use it as your starting point. Here are the steps you need to take to solve this puzzle correctly.

  • When facing the red stone turn 90 degrees to the right
  • Go forward three tiles
  • Turn to the left 90 degrees
  • Go forward one tile
  • Turn to the right 90 degrees
  • Go forward one tile
  • Turn to the right 90 degrees
  • Go forward one tile
  • Turn to the left 90 degrees
  • Go forward one tile
  • To the right 90 degrees
  • Go forward one tile
  • To the right 90 degrees
  • Go forward two tiles

When you land on the last tile of the sequence, all of the tiles rise from the ground to their previous positions. You’re going to complete the objective, receiving 550 experience points and a trait point. You’re going to see the middle tile you started on lowering into the ground. You can freely jump down and check out the new area. It’s a secret location that’s going to give you access to crafting the Void Skull armor set.

You don’t want to deal with any enemies while you’re solving the puzzle, because if you remain still on the tiles for too long, they automatically reset. When the tiles reset, the puzzle spawns a difficult enemy you need to dispatch. Make sure not to stand on the ruins or touch any of the tiles while you’re dealing with enemies, ensuring you don’t accidentally set it off.
