When faced with the wide array of possibilities and creativity that The Sims 4 gives you, it can be an overwhelming thing to figure out where to start your work. This goes for creating your dream house.
There are so many ways that you can craft your home in the game and you may need some help finding that perfect idea. To help give you that little boost, we have our top 10 ideas right here to inspire your creativity.
Floating house
Creating our own home should be magical so use some literal magic to build a floating home that you can live in. It’s pretty cool to zoom out and see your home floating above the ground like some sort of magical, mystical palace.
Hobbit holes
Bring the world of Tolkien to the Sims by crafting your own little Hobbiton, complete with luscious, green scenery and and round windows. You can even make it so that your homes feel underground, just like they are in the books and movies.
Hogwarts
Bring another iconic book/movie location into The Sims in the form of our favorite school of witchcraft and wizardry. You can even cut out all the parts you don’t want, like that gross Slytherin common room.
Holiday house
With the holiday season right around the corner, you can get into the spirit by creating your own North Pole, of sorts. There are plenty of ways to bring the holiday spirit to life in your house, so why not get into it a little earlier this year?
Horror house
Even if Halloween has been over for awhile, you can still get spooky with your home and build it in the style of any of your favorite horror movies, games, or shows. We have an example of the house from Silent Hill but you can choose just about any location you want.
House boat
While maybe not the full experience of living on a lake, you can still build your home in that style. There are plenty of ways to accomplish this goal so that you can feel like you are at home, on the waves.
Jungle treehouse
You can live like Tarzan and create a treehouse of sorts, complete with green fauna and a wooden, hand-built aesthetic. If you can build it in the right environment too, that will add even more to overall experience and feeling.

You can create just about any iconic location from your favorite shows but we chose one that is especially recognizable. You can then create all the characters and have them live there. We bet a Sims-Joey would be pretty funny.
Steampunk house
Steampunk has a very unique look to it and you can make a house in that style. It’s a cool blend of almost-gothic and science fiction architecture that offers a really cool feel.
Underwater home
You don’t have to restrict yourself to just living on the surface; you can build your own private aquarium of sorts to live in. It’s a completely unique look for a house and one that will certainly get people’s attention.
