The biggest new games coming this July

Summer is historically not suitable for new video games. The general public’s attention gets drawn to the more beautiful weather and outdoor activities, such as festivals, barbeques, and the beach. Naturally, people tend to purchase fewer video games, and so fewer games are launching in the summer months.

That’s not to say that July is barren of new releases. While it’s no September, there are still a few titles that are sure to be worth your time. With that said, here are the biggest and best games that are due to come out this month.

German-based developer Jo-Mei brought their indie psychological adventure game Sea of Solitude to EA Play at E3 in 2018. The title was a refreshing change from the usual plethora of EA’s sports and big-name releases. Sea of Solitude had players tackling the ever-expanding importance of mental health, as they played Kay, who tries to piece together the truth behind her monstrous appearance around an abandoned city, based on Berlin. Part of EA’s EA Original range, which include A Way Out and the Unravel games, this new title has a good chance of success. The game releases on July 5.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood – Official E3 2019 Trailer

Rid Paris of its Nazi problem together with a friend in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, the first co-op game in the series’s history. Set in a twisted 1980, step into the power armor of the “Terror Twins,” Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, on a mission to find your missing father BJ.

Are you not yet tired of your fill of blowing up the heads of evil Nazi’s as BJ Blazkowicz? Well sadly, BJ is gone, and the next game takes place 20 years after the events of The New Colossus. Players are taking control of Blazkowicz’s twin daughters, Jessica and Sophia. Co-op is available for the first time in the Machine Games saga of Wolfenstein games; Youngblood promises more Nazi death as you help the French Resistance claim back their country, which has been under Nazi rule since World War II. For those purchasing the Nintendo Switch version of the game, there is no physical card for the title and only a digital download.

Those are some of the bigger titles coming out this month. Make sure you grab the ones you’re excited about and prepare for some of the bigger games coming out later this year.
