Everything about Pokémon Go’s Tour: Kanto event – Kanto spawns, legendary moves, and Shiny Mew

A new event for 2021.

For those who love the original Pokémon journey, a new ticketed event in Pokémon Go will highlight all 150 Pokémon from this region in a special event in February 2021. Many of them have a chance to be shiny, so if you’re keen on adding particular shiny Pokémon of the original choices, here’s your choice. It’ll also be split up into a Red and Green version with particular exclusives for each one.

Pokémon Go Kanto Tour event

When will the Kanto Tour happen?

The event will be happening on February 20, 2021, from 9 AM to 9 PM in your local time. Not only will be there special spawns all throughout the timed event, there’s going to be an exclusive special research. Players who complete this special research before the event ends will unlock a second research line that gives them access to a shiny Mew.

Red and Green Version exclusive spawns

There will be exclusive Pokémon for this event. It will depend on which version you choose. If you choose a specific version, you’ll have to reach out to friends or other players who grabbed the other to trade for ones you won’t be able to get, thereby completing the 150 collection.

  • Red Version–Exclusive Pokémon: Ekans, Oddish, Mankey, Growlithe, Scyther, and Electabuzz will be attracted to Incense.
  • You’ll have an increased chance of encountering these Shiny Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pidgey, Ekans, Pikachu, Nidoran ♀, Oddish, Diglett, Mankey, Growlithe, Ponyta, Shellder, Drowzee, Krabby, Hitmonlee, Lickitung, Scyther, Electabuzz, Eevee, Kabuto, and Dratini.
  • Green Version–Exclusive Pokémon: Sandshrew, Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Magmar, and Pinsir will be attracted to Incense.
  • You’ll have an increased chance of encountering these Shiny Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pidgey, Pikachu, Sandshrew, Nidoran ♂, Vulpix, Meowth, Psyduck, Bellsprout, Geodude, Exeggcute, Hitmonchan, Koffing, Tangela, Horsea, Magmar, Pinsir, Eevee, Omanyte, and Dratini.

Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo five-star raids and exclusive moves

There will be five-star raids for Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo during the event. You’ll need to battle these powerful Pokémon and capture them to complete your collection for all 150.

  • Articuno will be able to learn hurricane.
  • Zapdos will be able to learn thunder shock.
  • Moltres will be able to learn sky attack.
  • Mewtwo will be able to learn psystrike.

How to get Shiny Mew – Special Research

The Kanto Tour event will have a special research available to every trainer who purchase a ticket for it. While the special event during the event does not give you the shiny Mew, it unlocks the new special research that will be available at a later date that does have a shiny Mew.
