There is a near-limitless number of ways to get creative kills in Splitgate, but the trickiest one to pull off is a proper portal kill. While many players seem to believe that this is achieved by shooting someone through a portal, that is actually a separate medal simply called “Kill Through Portal.” To get a “Portal Kill,” you will have to get an enemy at full health to go through your portal and send them to instant death. Doing so will nab you the Trickster achievement.
There aren’t many opportunities to do so, however, and you’re going to have to somehow find a way to contrive a situation to make some poor fool on the other team to off themselves. Any map with endless pits will work, but players have found that this is easiest on the map called Olympus, as it is possible to die from falls there. This will involve a lot of patience, trial and error, and some Home Alone-style hijinx.
Look at the far sides of the Olympus map and look for a floating and slanted blue wall — this is a portal-friendly wall that one can use to launch themselves with momentum, but without that momentum, you’ll simply fall off the map. Place one portal here, and you will want enemies to somehow get through your other portal to fall off the map.
You can shoot another portal in the center platform all the way below the rest of the map and hope that some unsuspecting enemy is playing around in there, or you can get someone to follow you through and hope they take the bait. There are also a few places where you can place a portal on the ground — perhaps you can shoot the ground with your other portal while an enemy is standing there. Regardless of the method, revel in your achievement knowing that you outsmarted someone out there.
