It’s time to organize your crime again. Mafia: Trilogy is finally out in the wild, despite Mafia: Definitive Edition not being released until Aug. 28. Longtime fans and newcomers can get hands-on with the Definitive Editions of Mafia II and Mafia III right now, with publisher 2K revealing that both games are available to buy digitally.

You may be curious to know if there will be a physical port of this remastered trilogy. Some players still like to buy physical copies of games to add to their collections, so it would be strange if Mafia: Trilogy wasn’t produced physically too. Let’s have a look and see if it will be.

Will Mafia: Trilogy be available to buy in physical format?

Yes, Mafia: Trilogy will receive a physical port on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, you’ll be waiting a while to get your hands on one.

As revealed in the FAQ section of the Mafia: Trilogy website, it’ll be released on August 28, 2020. That’s the same day that Mafia: Definitive Edition is getting launched digitally.

In a way, it makes sense that the physical port of Mafia: Trilogy and digital version of Mafia: Definitive Edition will release simultaneously. There wouldn’t be any point in releasing the games physically if they were all already available on digital stores. Holding the first title back gives everyone something to look forward to, even if it seems strange that we have to wait three months for the first game in the franchise to be released.

The physical version of Mafia: Trilogy can be pre-ordered in Asian and EMEA territories immediately. However, there won’t be a physical edition released in the Americas. Anyone who wishes to play Mafia: Trilogy in North or South America can only do so if they buy it digitally, according to the FAQ section. Be aware of this if you were planning on waiting for the game’s physical format to be released.
