Runes of force or agility

The runes of force or agility are extremely good, depending on the type of weapon damage you prefer to do. If you’re mostly striking at your enemies with the lighter attacks with your melee weapon, you want to use agility. Although, if you prefer to hit with the heaviest attacks, then you need to go with the runes of force. Both of them exceptionally good, and they work across all of the weapon types, so these are great to use throughout your playthrough.

Shadow runes

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is really open-ended. You have the option to walk straight into a camp, axes out, and start attacking all of the enemies until none of them are left, or stick to the shadows and take them out one by one. The stealth features are there, so if you prefer to use them, stick to the darkness and use the shadow runes in your weapon to increase your stealth.

Rune of Tactics

If you prefer to strike hard once, and only once, then you want to build your critical chance to do even more critical damage. A rune of finesse increases your attacks’ critical chance, allowing you to deal massive damage to your opponents during a quick battle. Critical chance works across your weaponry, so having more of it is never a bad thing.

Rune of Finesse

If you prefer to strike hard once, and only once, then you want to build your critical chance to do even more critical damage. A rune of finesse increases the critical chance of your attacks, allowing you to deal heavy damage to your opponents during a quick battle. Critical chance works across your weaponry, so having more of it is never a bad thing.

Rune of Perfection

Speaking of critical chances, a rune of perfection increases your critical hit damage, which goes alongside any rune of finesse you might have. You’ll be able to hit even harder when you land a critical strike against an opponent, and being able to do more damage like this is great across all weapon types in Valhalla.

Toxin rune

The stronger enemies in Valhalla won’t go down without a fight. They’re going to have more health and be able to hit you harder. A great way to steadily take them down is with damage over time, and you can do this with a toxin rune, which has poison build-up against your opponents. If you stack this on enough weapon slots or build it alongside a burst rune, you can see poison and fire damage bringing down the most formidable enemies.
