Understanding PS VR Processor Unit Light Indicator

In the PlayStation VR, you will find an indicator light on the front, which is in two colors mostly like white Processor Unit Indicator and red Processor Unit Indicator. Different indicator lights on Processor Unit indicates different conditions of PS VR. We have given the info about which color light indicates which condition in PS VR below.

PSVR Processor Unit Light Indicator

PS VR Process Unit Indicator Lights mean:

There are different colored lights are found in the Process Unit’s indicator light, check below to know about those indicator lights list

  • Red – solid
  • Red – five fast flashes
  • Red – two flashes then solid
  • Red – flashing continuously
  • White – solid
  • White – flashing
  • No light.

PS4 RED Light

Red – Solid:

Processor Unit is in rest mode, not outputting any video signals to TV or PS VR Headset, Power up PS4 to power up Processor Unit. If in case PS4 is on, press power button of VR Headset in line remote.

Red – five fast flashes:

Processor Unit is experiencing a power surge, power down the Processor Unit by holding the power button on the in line remote for seven seconds.

Red – two flashes then solid:

Appears when you plug the Processor Unit into electrical power outlet, while PS4 is powered down. Two flashes indicates the Processor Unit entering rest mode, solid red light shows succeeded rest mode. In rest mode, if Processor Unit not sending any video signal to TV or PS VR Headset, Power up PS4 to power up Processor Unit. If in case PS4 is on, press power button of VR Headset in line remote.

Red – flashing continuously:

Processor Unit may be overheating, see if an onscreen message indicating this and the Processor Unit fan louder than usual. Power down the Processor Unit by holding the power button on the in line remote for 7 seconds until you hear the second beep. Then disconnect the Processor Unit from the electrical supply and wait 30 minutes. Processor Unit should not be on top of PS4 or other electrical equipment and place it in ventilated area with the fan clear. You need to fix it if Processor Unit overheats often.

PS4 White Light

White – solid:

Processor Unit is powered up and operational and also mean video signals are passing to the TV, if turned on via the in-line remote, the PS VR Headset. If the Processor Indicator light is flashing, red or off, then video signals will not pass through to the TV or VR Headset.

White – flashing:

Power button on the VR Headset in line remote pressed or the PS4 started up and the VR Processor Unit is powering up. Solid white light appears to allow video signals to pass to the TV, if turned on via the in-line remote, the PS VR Headset.

No light:

Check if power cable is fully inserted into the Processor Unit. Make sure to plug the Processor Unit directly into the wall, if you are using an outlet extension cable, try replacing it. Check connections again if there are any loose connections, go through PS VR Set up to check on connections. Go for the Troubleshooting to fix problems or send it for the repair.
