Skyrim On Nintendo Switch Will Not Have Mod Support

At a recent Nintendo Direct Presentation, we received the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Nintendo Switch version release date (November 17, 2017). In addition to this, we received a new gameplay demo of Skyrim running Nintendo Switch, and it looked absolutely stunning (YouTube version with good quality is yet to be found). However, there was no update on which version of Skyrim, Nintendo fans will play: the original Skyrim that was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 or the Skyrim Special Edition that was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Skyrim On Nintendo Switch Will Not Have Mod Support

If you are among one of those who didn't pre-order Skyrim for Nintendo Switch just because there was no clarification on which port is going to be made available then it's time for you to get your wallet ready because we have received an official confirmation from Bethesda that Skyrim for Nintendo Switch is based on the Skyrim Special Edition. This was expected from every one of us, now that the official confirmation has arrived - you can complete your pre-order process now.

In another news, Bethesda's Pete Hines confirmed that Skyrim on Nintendo Switch will not have Mod Support. Speaking to our friend at USGamer, Pete Hines stated that: "Not at this time", when asked for Mod Support for Skyrim on Nintendo Switch. The response from Hines hints that there is a possibility that Mod Support will be added to the game later on, but fans should keep their expectations in check.

If you are smart enough then I am sure you are not going to make a huge hue and cry about Mod Support missing on Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim - Skyrim is one of the best RPG of all time and Bethesda bringing it on Nintendo Switch with few exclusive features such as Motion Controls for Combat and Lockpicking, Unlock Bonus Loot using compatible Amiibo, is going worth the price tag.
