Shenmue video game series fans, we have a bad news – Deep Silver has announced that Shenmue III has been delayed. It will not launch on PC and PlayStation 4 at some point in 2019. The game was originally scheduled to launch in Q3 2018. There is no official details on the new release window, but we expect it to arrive in Q1 2019 (just a speculation from our side).
Speaking to a fans via their official website, Deep Silver stated that the main reason behind the Shenmue III delay was that the development team needed a bit of extra time to polish the quality of the game even future. Read the official statement from Deep Silver below.
“Deep Silver today announce that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019. The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe.”
This delay might be also due to the fact that Shenmue I & II Remastered is scheduled to launch later this year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Multiple retailers have listed Shenmue I & II HD to launch in August 2018. Once again, there are no updates available officially, but chances are there that we will hear something from the publisher at this year’s E3. So stay tuned to Gamepur for the latest update.
